Vintage Recipe book

I'm here, I'm here.. really I am. I was without my computer for a couple of days while we worked on painting.  Oh... it was way more work than I even expected.. and I knew it would be pretty bad.  There is just so much STUFF in this room .. taking it all out, painting , and then putting it all back in , has been a huge job.  Thank goodness Dan did the patching and painting of the walls. I worked on painting the hosier and the smaller storage things.  Oh.. ummm.. did I mention.. I dread painting.. dread I tell you! I love the nice clean look and satisfaction you feel when it's all finished.......but...  everything else about it.. ..... yuck!     I went with "Pale Parchment" for the walls and "Green Sojourn" for the Hosier. (which is a vintagy light green).  I am happy with it .. and so glad it's done.  Just wish I could move things around differently..but this room is not big at all, so there is really only one way it seems to work well.  Anyway.. I'll share photos soon!  Thanks for your input!
______________________________________________________________________

Well, before all this painting craziness started I made this little recipe book, so thought this would be a good time to share it .

The little album it's self is a Maya Road album.    You've seen me use the Domestic Goddess Creative Scraps before..but this time I used mostly the new images on the inside, now that they are double sided.

I did quite a few pages in this album.. using a big part of one sheet for the cover, so I actually used two sheets. ( with some left over)
As far as papers, I just went through and picked out some of my old favorites that fell into the color scheme I was going with.  A number of them are older Foofala papers from Autumn Leaves. Also a couple from Making Memories.
If you look at the top of the right hand sheet of Creative Scraps (above) , you can see how I used the row of aprons as a sort of ruffle along the edge of my page, in the photo below.  Lots and lots of  fun things you can do with the images.

I also Incorporated this darling stamp set, throughout the album.

The little button embellishments below were just done with Fancy Pants buttons that I embellished by punching out parts of the images with my small punch.. so that it fit right inside the buttons center.

The chipboard pieces you see, are also from Crafty Secrets.

Recently I had to purchase I new sewing machine. (bummer).. but I sure had a fun time breaking it in on this album. lol

In the back of the book I added a little pocket with extra recipe cards in it.. so more recipes could be added.

Using the stamps and a few markers  I "prettied up" the blank recipe cards in a flash.  Aren't those stamps darling!!!

I adore the reds and blues of this little vintage cook book.   Having those fun images to work with really made it easy to pull together.  I need to make another one of these that just has my "most used" favorite recipes in it to keep on my kitchen counter.  The other day when I was baking I couldn't find my banana bread recipe that I've used for YEARS.. and it was so frustrating. I'm sure it just got filed in the box in the wrong place. I spent enough time looking through the box for it, you'd think I would have found it.. grrr  Some day soon when I don't need it , I'm sure it will be right there!  lol  Isn't that how it usually goes? lol

Okay.. time for me to call it a night.  So Tired!  Tomorrow I hope to get the rest of the room put back together. Why is it when you have one room in the house tore apart .. it seem like the entire house is in disarray??  Or is that just how I roll? lol

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Hi Vic~
I think this recipe book is one of my favortie projects that you've created. I would love to do something like this for my daughter and daughters-in-law...I have the stamps set, I just need to get the CS Domestic Goddess cotton scraps. We don't have a local store that carries them so I'll hunt them down on-line. I do have a question for you...your pot roast sounds great and I can read the ingredients but what are the cooking directions? Crock pot or oven roast? Fall is the perfect time for this kind of cooking...yum!
Can't wait to see you room.
Have a great weekend!
