New Fancy Pants "Summers End" line

It's it Friday yet?? Oh yeah, it is! Happy Friday Everyone!   Hope you have a great weekend planned.
It's been an exciting couple of weeks, getting to play with new products ( CHA releases)  Fancy Pants has come out with some of their most beautiful lines ever!  The colors and patterns of this "Summers End" line just make me HAPPY!  Aren't they pretty?

All the coordinating embellishments, rubons, ect.. make pulling it all together pretty darn easy.
The photo is of my niece Amy and her family (before Addy was born).  I do love this photo. ( not to mention... it was here, what I needed and I was working on a deadline.. needing to get the box off for CHA) lol   Next time I'll be sure to have a updated photo of them on hand:)

Here is a look at the entire line..but you can see it with all the other goodies to go with it HERE.

Here's another layout I did with this line.  I adore these photos of Austin when he was a little guy.
Nothing cuter than an little boy with a dusty bum, throwing rocks in the water

All the beautiful ORANGE in this line.. made me think of this photo of the lilies growing in the ditch across the road.  There are ALOT of them!

Have a fantastic weekend!  ORANGE you glad it's Friday?  lol

Lots of new things to share..

Oh boy, I have lots to share with you today :)  I'll start with this card I made with this new stamp set from Crafty SecretsQueen Bee  ( available soon!)    I love stamps like this, that make such a statement, even when they are just stamped in black and not even colored. I knew right away when I saw this set I wanted to stamp wings on vellum and add them to the already stamped image.

Below you can see the entire set.

I've added alot of die cut pieces to my etsy, and my favorite pennant die shape is one of them.  I decided to use just one of them in a non traditional way, and instead of making it part of a pennant, I used it to create a card.  The paper I used for the background (pennant shape) on this card, is from the New "Creating with Vintage Patterns" CD from Crafty Secrets.

Below you can see some of the Pennant shapes I've added to my etsy if you are interested.   This one has alot of fall colors.....

And this one is a set of Christmas Paper banner pieces.  There are a number of different ones for sale.  .    Of course these make totally fun banners.  I've added some samples in my etsy so you can see how they have been used, and I'm planning to add more.

I also added these smaller vintage sheet music pennant pieces ...
which is what I used to make this banner.

I used the music pennant pieces, and punched a scalloped circle out of the center.  I added a clear piece of transparency to the center of each circle opening, and then used that to attach my punched butterflies.

I also added some of these card stock card shapes. The AccuCut die cuts.. (and scores) so all you have to do is fold in the middle.  (standard card size)
I also added a number of different colors and patterns of this shape....

and this one.

You can find them all and more in my ETSY  here.

Bet you can guess what I've been busy doing huh? lol

Hope you all have your week off to the great start!

New Fancy Pants "Off to School" line.

Hey Everyone!  Hope you're weekend is going well.  I'm working in getting things cut to add to my etsy today.  It's nice and cool "inside", so I guess "that's" where we'll be:)  Be sure to check my etsy later to see what shapes I've added, in case there are some you are interested in.
I have a number of New Fancy Pants layouts to share.  All of them done with the newly released lines.  The first one is the "Off to School" line.  I know the layout below isn't your traditional "School" layout, but when I pulled out these photos (which I LOVE), all I could think was ... "School of Rock". lol   Aidan and Griff had the microphone at the Senior Center, at one of our family gatherings, and were singing their little hearts out.  Oh.. it was SO cute!

Blow is a sampling of the line, but you can see my layout and a bunch of others .. all done with this line HERE on the Fancy Pants Blog.

I loved that one of the elements actually said "School Rocks" .. yay... made it even more fitting for my title and photos.

If you've used Fancy Pants products before, you know what I'm talking about when I say ....   it's so easy because there are so many coordinating things in each line.   Chipboard elements, rubons, buttons , ribbons ect.     Sure makes pulling a layout together easy!
Fancy Pants released what I think are their best lines ever!   You can  check them all out HERE.

Yesterday mom and I took a drive in the country.  It was a beautiful summer day and we both enjoyed getting out for a bit. Dan had to work yesterday, so we kind of just did as we pleased most of the day.
The fields were so green. and the corn so high.  I can tell drives in the country really take mom back to her youth.  I love it , because she talks about things she remembers as a child and it's so interesting.
She was saying how the fields look so nice from the rain, and remembering when there were times when she was growing up when the huge black clouds of dust and dirt would come.   She said the sky was just black!  And that you could see it coming from a long ways away it was so big. She said the they would all have to run around the gather the chickens to put them in.  When it came the skies where black as night.  Can you imagine?
We also talked about farming and  farm animals.  All I can say is I would have never made it!  Having to work that hard for one thing, but knowing my animals would have had to but butchered to feed  the family   would have been quite hard for me :(

It was a nice ride, and a good visit :)  I love moms stories!

Enjoy your Sunday!

More fun with new stamps

I have always loved the look of Silhouettes. I was giddy when I saw this new "Vintage Silhouettes" set of Clear Art Stamps from Crafty Secrets.  Isn't it just sweet!

I used parts of this set to create the layout below. The papers are from the New "Creating with Vintage Images CD"  ( the solid pink and green are card stock and the image was stamped on cream card stock and then spritzed with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist.
( you can click to see the layout larger)

Here is the stamp set , so you can see all the elements.

Vintage Silhouettes

..and here is the CD.   If you'd like to see some gorgeous samples done with these and the other newly released products from Crafty Secrets you can see them on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog.
Also Sheila Rumney who was the winner of the CD I gave away last week, has two awesome digital layouts posted HERE on her blog.

______________________________________________________

Well this sweet little face kept me up most of the night last night.  Yep.. you guessed it... rain, thunder and lightening.  I feel so bad for her that it scares her so much, but I feel sorry for myself too.. because I love my sleep! :(   No really! It gets old fast.   Anyone else have this with their dogs??  Any thoughts on what to do?  I have all the shades pulled and turn the fan on high so it will drown out the noise as much as possible. I don't want to have to give her meds for it. Which is what the Vet said the next step would be.  It seems that it's really gotten worse as she's gotten older.  She pants, and paces.. and jumps up on the bed.  She never gets up on the bed any other time.  She's not exactly a tiny puppy, and it's a bit shocking to wake up to a 60lb freaked out dog using the back of your bare legs as leverage to get up on the bed. (Getting up on the bed is a chore for her, as she's not a young pup, and no exactly slim and trim :)      Oh, I love her and wouldn't trade her for anything. Just thought I'd ask if any of you have this problem or have any ideas.    You have been so helpful with things in the past.    I just got an email today from a reader with some ideas to help my moms leg pain.  I so appreciate that.  There really are alot of kind caring people out there.  Thanks Friends!

Speaking of mom.  Dan just had two days off , so he has been working one the puzzle with mom and making lots of progress:)  He keeps trying to get me interested but... it's a no go!  Just not my thing:)
On the other hand... I have a little project of my own going on. This vintage window I got when we were in Walnut Iowa.  I know it looks like a ladder here.. lol.. but picture it running the other way. There is glass in the spaces. I have been working with a razor blade scrapper to get all the paint off the glass.  Looking pretty good huh?  It took a bit of elbow grease for sure, but I hope it pays off in the end, because I have plans for this baby.   I plan to paint it , (when I'm finished sanding) then hang  horizontally, and have vintage photos (5x7's)  put behind the glass in each section.
I cant wait to have it finished and hung~!

Hey .. thanks to all of you who have ordered things from my etsy shop.  I wish I had more photo holders and ornate frames as they were popular.  I'll keep my eye out for more.    I have decided to start selling some sets of precut AccuCut shapes.   Below are two of my favorites.    I'll get those added this weekend.

Here are cards done with both shapes so you can see what they look like.

The images used on both these cards are from Crafty Secrets.

Okay...  Have a great weekend friends.  I have lots of Fancy Pants layout to share using the new Releases, so stop back when  you can.

Happy Creating!

Summer Days

Summer is definatly here!  Hot hot hot out there!  I will still take it any day over winter:)
It feels strange not to be at CHA.. but I'm totally okay with that this time around.  Things have been busy here and it was kind of nice just to put my projects in the mail and know I could stay home.   The canvas I'm sharing today is one I did for the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L booth for CHA.

The idea is that it would be a gift for grandparents , Aunt and Uncles ect.. that would have a CD in the holder at the base, that would be filled with photos of the kiddos.    Fun gift for those loved ones that live a ways away and don't get to see the kids as often.
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L make these CD holders. They are so easy to use to add to projects or Scrapbook Pages because they are self adhesive on the backs.

New Foam Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives works great for giving lift and dimension to long border pieces like this.

Below is a photo from CHA that Liz Hicks had posted from the Scrapbook Adhesives booth.  It's projects from the Design Team on display:)

I am telling you it has been HOT here the last few days.  My poor plants are suffering!   Even my gnome wants in. lol

We are staying inside and keeping cool.   Mom is still suffering with alot of pain in her legs. We keep thinking we are getting in under control but then it's back.  She has started new pain meds to help until her next injection, so she is staying with us for a bit.      She likes to do jig saw puzzles, and so does Dan.. so.......
Here they are!   Not my cup of tea at all, but I did help them sort pieces. haha

Hope all of you are staying cool and enjoying your week.   I have LOTS of stuff (CHA projects) to share.. so I'll be back to post tomorrow.

hugs, Vic
