Giveaway time once again...

Yep... I'm squeezing in one more April giveaway. to celebrate 6 years of blogging.   And this one is filled with Crafty Secrets goodies. I certainly couldn't celebrate without them!  As most of you know, Crafty Secrets has been a huge part of my "creative" world for some time now.  I've been lucky enough to work with them for many years now. (I'd have to really give it some thought...but ..more then 10 years).   So this giveaway has bunches of Crafty Secrets goodies for  you to play with.  Three sheets of Creative Scraps, a sheet of cuts, a sheet of stickers, a Sweet Chips Chipboard house, Sweet Chips chipboard pieces, a Wood File Folder Album, and a "Get Creative" idea book.  And so you can start creating right away, I added some ribbons, tags, and embellishments.

All you have to do to be entered is leave a comment in this post between today and Friday May 4.  It's that easy!
I'll announce the winner of all these goodies on Friday.

I thought I'd just go through  my picture files and show you a few ideas for things you can do with some of these products.   Yes, they are great for card making and scrapbooking , but  they can be used for lots of things beside that.  I made these refrigerator magnets using some of the fun retro images and these big bottle caps.

I have found so many awesome charms that are big enough to put these images in, just in the jewelry isle of Hobby Lobby.  All different shapes and sizes. I'm sure most any Craft store that has a jewelry making dept will have them.

And here's some done with slide holders.

This bracelet was fun and inexpensive to make.  I found the bracelet at Hobby Lobby (their jewelry stuff goes on sale 1/2 off quite often), added my images and then a coat of Diamond Glaze.  I used the images from the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps for the bracelet.

Fancy Pants Designs Artist Edition Metal Frames work fantastic!

With these  Embossed Chipboard frames  you can put two together back to back , for double sided framed pieces.

I'll be sharing other Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage projects this week, but so you don't miss anything from CS, be sure to subscribe to  the Heartwarming Vintage blog,( there is a link on the right sidebar of their blog),  and you can also follow them on facebook :)

Right now Sandy has a free Mothers Day printable box to share HERE

This is going to be a short post, since I'm working from my laptop while trying to get my new computer up and running.  Yes.... new computer.  You know what that means??  My computer died, and I had no choice but to go computer shopping.  Luckily Weston ( oldest ds) is helping his old momma out.   He found
me one (on sale even) yay... and is coming here this weekend to help me get it set up.   So hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things soon.   Until then I thought I'd share these cards I did with Fancy Pants "Be You" line.  I have them all up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog, to show you some fun ways to use your adhesives.  I'd love it if you'd pop over to the Crafty Power blog and check it out.  While you're there you
can see all the great projects from the Design Team.
.

Hang in there with me kids, I'll be up and running again in a day or so ( fingers crossed).

Thanks friends!  Vicki

Altered drawers and a Giveaway

Hey everyone!   I'm starting off the week with another giveaway, because I'm celebrating 6 years of blogging.... all this month! ( updated: winner has been chosen. Thank you for playing along) I have this weeks giveaway posted down at the bottom of this post.  All you have to do it leave a comment  here, and I'll put your name in the hat :)
I'm so exited to get to share with you, a little peek at some of what's coming out on Crafty Secrets newest CD.
"Creating with Vintage Typography"      I used a number of the papers and elements from the CD,on these drawers I altered this weekend.

First of all Thank you to my cousin Paula for bringing me these drawers! You know me well.... REALLY you do!  lol  You knew I would want to use them for something. lol   When Dan saw these two drawers sitting here, he looks at me funny, and says "What are you going to do with two random drawers?".  ha.. you would think he wouldn't ask things like that by now.
A few years ago, I actually bought an old drawer that had a shelf built in it ,and a wire to hang it by.  I still use it to hold Glimmer Mist.    I added photo hangers to the backs of these before I started painting and mod podging.
I painted and crackled the tops of the drawer, and then used the printable papers and elements from the CD to the inside and outside with Mod Podge.

I printed off some of the vintage postcards on the CD to make the cans that are holding my work supplies.
So easy!  The cans are just soup cans. The postcards could be sized to fit the height of the can, then all I did was use my Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Power Tape to adhere it to the can.  I didn't even use Mod Podge on those.

One of the Images on the CD   was the "Old Cupboard Drawer".  hahah... ok.. perfect for this project.
I am loving all these fun papers.  Oh.. and see the word "ART"... yes.. it's on the CD also. And again.. the glory of it is , you can make it the size you want it.

Had fun making these little flowers out of the map paper.

ahhhh... love the butterflies.

So ..here's what the tops of the drawers look like after I crackled them.  I knew what color I wanted..but I just didn't have it,( which is surprising because I have quiet a variety of colors of acrylic pant :(
so I started mixing blues and greens until I was satisfied with it.

I left the knobs on, I just punched out some of the "numbers paper" to Mod Podge on.

I am busy working on other projects for samples for the new CD... so stay tuned, I'll have lots more to share using this CD.  Also check out the Heartwarming Vintage blog to see peeks of what's on the CD.  You are going to love it :)

UPDATE: Winner has been chosen. Thank you for playing along:)

OKAY... here is this weeks giveaway.   I'll draw a winner from the comments in this blog post on Friday(27th)

I hope you have a great start to your week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Give-a-way!!! Excited about a fun new die... "BOWS"

I'm super excited to share my new die!  I have been wanting to have a die made to cut paper bows for some time now... so .... I finally did :)  It's a "custom die".  Make my "AccuCut" of course :)  The die has three different sizes.  ( you can see them further down in this post).
This is the medium sized bow that I used on this altered project.

I decided to stamp on this one before assembling it.  I used Crafty Secrets "Down on the Farm" Clear Art Stamp Set.  ( papers and Chicken image is from the "Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD")

So, you can see here, how to easily put them together.  Fold the bow piece inward on both sides to meet in the back. ( I used my hot glue gun to assemble).

Then you add the bow piece to the back ribbon cut piece.

Then you just wrap your center piece around and adhere it in the back.

Below you can see all three sizes

side view.   (If you don't want them to be dimensional, you can flatten them also).

Below .. is the largest size.

So I've been busy cutting this weekend :)    I've added a number of different things to my etsy...., not just paper things...but other fun stuff :)    But I did add the bows in different sizes and colors.   The set below is all the smaller "card sized" bows cut from colored cardstock.

I wanted to give you a hit for the small card stock bows.  using a pencil to curve the bow, works really well, for a nice shape, and avoids them wanting to fold.

Here is a card example, where I used a small bow.   ( Image from Crafty Secrets  Digital "Birds and Blossoms" Download

Here's a altered photo holder with a small bow used on it.

I also cut 2 of each size for these groupings to sell.   This one is called  "Summer Brights"     (They will come unassembled like this)

This grouping is called "Vintage Flair". It also comes with two Large, two Med, and two Small. ( unassembled)

So, since I'm celebrating 6 years of blogging this month, and I'm super excited to share my new die,  I'm going to draw 6 names from this post  to send some to.  See I have 6 manila envelopes sitting here on my desk with a variety of cut bow pieced in each one, that are ready to ship out on Friday (the 20th), as soon as I announce the winners.  Each one has a number of large, medium and small bows ( unassembled) in it.
So leave a comment in this post between now and Friday if you'd like your name in the hat.
SIX  winners will be announced Friday!

here is a peek at a few other things I added to my etsy.

A number of you have asked about the eggs I use in my projects.  I haven't been able to find them anywhere to link you too, but I do have a few in different sizes that I can share.   Here are the tiny ones..but I have others in my etsy also.

And lots more!      (ps. you can always find my etsy link, in the right sidebar of my blog :)

Okay.... that's a lot of sharing for one day, home I didn't wear you out. lol    Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to leave a comment in this post if you'd like your name in for the drawing for Friday.

"Dahlia" Card ..and things to share :)

Hey Friends!  The weekend is here! ( I know..that made you smile didn't it?) lol   I'm not sure what we're in for "weather wise" this weekend, as I keep hearing nasty storms for tomorrow.  Today the sun is shining and I can hear the birds singing outside my window.. so I'm just going to enjoy the moment.
I worked on a card yesterday that I thought I'd share.

It's done using the Crafty Secrets Dahlia Clear Art stamps.    You know me, I love stamping, but I'm not much of a "colorer" ( unless it's super easy of course) lol.

Here is the stamp set, so you can see the beautiful Dahlia and other elements.

Dahlia Clear Art Stamps picture

I love this stamp, and it was so easy to make colorful and cheery with only a couple of things.
I used the marker for the flower itself  and then I just used the Glimmer Mist to mist the edges of the paper, I had stamped on.  To add a little bit of shading I just when back over those areas with the marker again, making them a little darker.  It's really easy to see where to "shade" with these stamps.

There really is a lot you can do with out having to own a hundred different colors of special markers :)

The other day we took one of our little drives.  I didnt take tons of photos but I had to share one of this little cutie.... running for her momma.

And Check out this cave.  It's obviously OLD, you can tell by the bricks..but ???  Dan said caves like that were used for storing ice.. back in the day. Could be I guess. It's close to the river ... so maybe??

As I was going  thru my photos I saw this one from Easter again, and just had to share it, because it makes me happy.  My family gathering for the blessing before dinner on Easter.  ( backyard at the cabin).

This post is getting more random as I go, lol.  but Jarad shared this video with me, and I want to share it with you.  What an awesome story!
Jarad has now passed his classes, and done his hands on training to be a certified EMT.  Really proud of him!
After watching this... I need to update my CPR certification!
