Giveaway open until Dec 2ndv 2013

Over the years I have made .. well, lets just say "many" cards using Crafty Secrets images, stamps, papers ect. As I look back thru my files sometimes I see some that I have completely forgotten about .. like the ones below.  I thought I'd share them with you.    Here is a list of what I used to create them.  When I made these CS didn't have digital stamps yet..but now the Atsy Banners Stamp set is Digital.  I have the supplies linked below :)

These papers and images just make me happy.   This CD came out before the Christmas CD's, and the papers still worked great. But if your interested in great Christmas papers, images and other goodies on a CD now Crafty Secrets has
Creating with Vintage Christmas and Creating with Retro Christmas

Simply because I'm crazy obsessed with taking photos and sharing them , especially of fun events like this one, .... I'm sharing the second set of photos from Junk Salvation :)

Enjoy looking , even if you cant buy...  I know it's hard, but I was in the same boat for the most part.  All I had was suitcases and they were pretty full the way it was. I only saw about a 100 things I wanted :(

I did pick up a couple of small things .. and mailed two things home.  One was this frame  ( a little nervous because it hasn't arrived yet) eek

and the other was something I picked up for my friend Deb. She collects globes, and when I saw this awesome lighted globe for only $20 I knew she would want it. I was right. lol  I was so wanting to see a photo of it lit up at night.. so she sent me this.

Okay.. so here are some photos of the other booths at the show

Eye candy everywhere!

Christmas Window card and part 1 of Junk Salvation photos

Well, as much as it was my plan to do a blog post when I was away, my laptop just wasn't going to cooperate.  Things started out fine, but it did an update and after that, .. nothing but problems. very frustrating.  Anyway, I'm home now.  It was so great to get to spend time with Sandy and her family and to get to see Cindy. The show in Puyallup was amazing, and I have lots and lots of shows to share. Way more than I thought I had taken! I really want to share them with you, since there was so many awesome booths, so I will break it up into a couple of posts. I'll share the first batch today.
First I wanted to show you a card I did using the "Creating with Retro Christmas CD". I cut the window area out and added a piece of clear transparency, then added the sentiment to the inside of the card, so it could be see thru the window.

I love this image.  I just added a piece of vintage lace to the inside of the window opening to look like a valance over the window.

This was one of the coolest "Junk" shows I've ever been to for sure.  So many fun things, great booths, and good prices. The only bad thing was, I was flying home...so it was SO hard to see so many cool things I wanted and not be able to take them with
me :(         I actually ending up mailing home a couple of things..but oh... trust me, had I lived closer... My car would have probably been full.

Sandy sold a lot of great props she had, big frames, metal things for hanging things on ect, and they were all gone the first day!  The booth was busy! As always, things are a rush getting ready , then before I get photos of the booth taken, things are gone. By the time I took these photos all the big things had been sold.    Although it wasn't a stamping or scrapbooking show.. or really a crafting show of any kind... I was totally amazed at how busy the booth was.  People see the awesome Vintage stuff and are just drawn to it!  ***   (Sandy had more photos in her post on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog.)

Sandy :)

You would not believe how many of these printers letters Sandy sold.

The booth across from us was probably my favorite at the show.  Loved her stuff and her prices were great.  "Blue Chair"

I didn't see anything in her booth that I wouldn't have loved to have.

This coffee table was $18       ( I die)

I did bring this little sweetie home with me in my suitcase tho.

Needless to say, her booth was cleared out pretty fast.

Here are some random photos from other booths

My friend Deb collects vintage globes. I couldn't stand it when I saw that awesome LIGHTED globe you can see in the photo below, and it was only $20.  I mailed it back to Nebraska for her.  I was surprised .. shipping was only $11    It looks so amazing lit!!
At the entrance of the show they had a gorgeous Christmas scene set up and Christmas music playing the entire time. It was a really well done show.  Props to "Funky Junk Sisters".

Yesterday Sandy drove me to the airport in Seattle after I spent a few days at there house in BC after we finished the show on Saturday.  It was a beautiful morning in Seattle. (Unfortunately, I came home to freezing rain)

This was my view from the Plane.

I loved getting to see everyone, but always feels good to get home and see the fam and the pups.   Now I'm digging through the mountain of laundry as a unpack.  Old Mother Hubbards Cupboards are bare, so tomorrow will have to be grocery day for sure.
My pups were happy to see me, and are sticking pretty darn close to my side.
Sending love and huge thanks to my Canada friends who are more like family to me.
I always miss them when I leave because I know it will be a while before I see them again.

I hope you have all had a great week!   I'll be back with more photos to share in my next post.

Thanks friends for stopping by!

hugs, Vic

November "Whatevers" TWO

Here it is ..that time again.  Time to give new stories to photo and have a little fun with it. If your not familiar with "Whatevers"... read further down in this post and it will all make more sense ( well at lease.. it should:).  Remember ... we always love to have everyone play along!

Here is my page done with this months photo, and below is my story.

( the design on my page was created by dipping multiple different shaped lids into watercolor .   Round lids in different sizes and the other shape is my Cat Eye ink lid)

When Aunt Esmeralda and the girls arrived, mother said it was a huge change for them but how happy they were to have the love and support of their family and friends. Making a new start here with out their father took a lot of courage, But Esmeralda came from a long line of strong woman, she was determined.  Mother always talked of what a beautiful woman she was... and how she always dress her and her girls in amazing  hand made outfits for special celebrations.

Be sure to check out what the others Created with this months photo.

Here is how it works
  • Nat, Cat, Cuchy (Carmen), Martha and I and I have made a one-year commitment to each other and picked twelve photos with Whatevers whom we will give a story.

  • If you want you can play along and we will have the photo for you to download and show us your version of The Whatevers. The photo will be posted at the end of our blogposts- not on Facebook!
  • There is no rules to the story itself- it can be funny, sad, uplifting, breathtaking- WHATEVER
  • There is no rules on the length or the form of the story- it can be a short sentence, an essay, a poem or a soap opera – WHATEVER
  • There is no rules on the artform you choose – it can be a scrapbook layout, an altered art project, an artjournal page – WHATEVER

Set of 4 Christmas Tags

Hey... Hello! I'm still here :)    Just been a busy week.  Trying to get things caught up and get packed to head out for a week.  I'll tell you more about that further down in the post, but first, I wanted to share a few tags I just finished .  The images are from the Crafty Secrets "Creating with Retro Christmas CD".   On these, they all come on one  sheet, so all I did was print the sheet off, cut them out and started creating.

The papers I matted the tags with are also on the CD.  The papers on this CD are my very favorite Christmas papers :)

I need to do projects like this more often.  Quick crafting gratification!  You get to have all the fun, of picking out the cute embellishment , inking , stitching, whatever you want... and you cant really go wrong, because the images are so stinking CUTE! lol
There is also a strip of darling little tickets on this same printable sheet.  You can see I used one on the very first Tag.

Okay, so were am I going?  HERE!    I'll be working with Sandy from Crafty Secrets, Selling a bunch of her vintage goodies.   I'll be sure to take a lot of photos to share :)
After the show, I'm heading with Sandy to Canada to help there for a few days and also to get to get to spend some time with her and her awesome family!   I haven't seen them for a while and I'm really missing them!
* I will have my laptop and try to do a post when I'm there, but if you are on facebook or instagram, I'd love it if you'd follow me there also.  All the links are above on my blog.

I have to admit it wasn't all work this past week.    Yep.. that's right.  Roger Clyne the the Peacemakers where in Omaha and you know there is no way I'd be missing that :)
What an amazing show!

Here we are having pizza before the show. What a great bunch of girls.

Only fair that I leave you with a RCPM tune... Enjoy!

See you soon!

Fancy Pants Happy Birthday Card

Hey friends!  Posting a Birthday Card today, made with the "Down by the Shore" Collection from Fancy Pants Designs.    I have to tell you, after posting this ..  I realized that that darling little red thing with pinchers was a crab not a lobster. ( gimme a break... I'm life long Nebraskan :)  Then ... all I could think was... "Happy Birthday Crabby" lol.  I'm certainly glad my brother-in-law didn't take it that way. lol   I'm glad he liked the card.. because he is certainly not a crabby :)

My sister and brother-in-law love taking there vacations traveling the coast, so I always think of them when I see use this line.

Spent a little time taking photos of this adorable family on Sunday.  This is my daughter -in-law Kate's, brothers family.

Could Miss Kinley be any cuter?  oh... what a little sweetheart.

  Absolutely adorable family.

And on my way home .. I was treated to this.  These Fall Sunsets have been so Gorgeous!

Thanks for taking some to stop by.  I appreciate that you do :)

Crafty Secrets Linky Party "Halloween fun layout using PNG's"

Here we are jumping head first into November!  Time for another Crafty Secrets DT Challenge/ and Linky Party.   I know a lot of you will have some darling Halloween photos to get into scrapbooks, so today I thought I'd show you how you can use Papers and images from the "Creating with Vintage Halloween CD" to do just that.   The thing I specifically want to talk about is how you can use PNG files. ( not only on your pages and cards.. but on your photos).   I've talked to you before about how you can do this with digital stamps also, so if you'd like to check that out , you can see it in this post  .HERE.

All the papers and elements I used for this layout are on the Halloween CD
( with the exception of the general font I used for journaling)  Oh... and the darling children :)

Creating with Vintage Halloween CD from Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage

So here you can see the original photo I started with.

Just by sampling grabbing and pulling the spider png file over onto my photo , I can make it look like baby Emett is grabbing for the spider.  * How to use PNG files HERE

and I can do the same by laying the jack-o-lantern over the pumpkin.  Of course I could add their names, "Happy Halloween", the date, or whatever to the photo, and use it just on it's own to send to Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles ect..
Once you have the PNG's added as long as you keep your photo the same size , you can upload it to Walgreens, or whatever photo service you use, if you don't print yourself and have it printed just as you would any photo.   If you wanted to send just the photo to friends and family.

I am always singing the praises of PNG's because if you are a beginner to using digital, like I am, it's SO easy and fun!
I even used  PNG files to dress up this photo of the Halloween Brownies I made to take to the get together we went to at Kates parents Halloween night.

And I made this Pumpkin Pie Dump Cake from Pinterest that is SO easy and SO yummy!

Now ... be sure you pop over and see what they other girls have to share this month and give a warm welcome to our new DT member Cherry Nelson. Welcome Cherry!!
