I'M HOME!!!!!

I'm home!!! Always feels good to be home after being gone for a while, but it was hard to leave with things not completely finished. You know how it is when are part of the beginning of a project you want to see it all through to the end. I was bummed about that, but thrilled to be able to have been a part of this paper project. I'm SO excited about how they turned out! As you can see by the photo, for a while I even though I was going to have these girls converted to my drink of choice. Neither of them really drink much pop at all....But I was thinking this might be the thing that could get us through! LOL
We put our heads together, got a lot done, and came up with some pretty darn amazing paper, if I say so myself. It was so cool to see it all come together.
So, other than my bad lucky this time with flights, the trip was great. The flights going to Vancouver were the biggest mess ever.....Delays, plane problems, rude people, overbooking, switching airlines, missed flights, and me about in tears. The way home wasn't AS bad, but the first delayed fight, caused me to miss the second connection in Denver, and had to catch a later fight. So instead of getting into Omaha at 8:30pm , it was Midnight. After 2am when I got home, but hey, I gained 2 hours!!!! (with the time change) .
Now, time to catch up on things around here...and give my pups some attention!

Favorite "Texture" Photos

And I'm off....almost

Decided I would blog one last time while I was finsihing up packing and lining things up to go. I just have to share some things with you . ... First of all, I didnt realize that this weekend is the weekend of the BIG 150th Birthday of North Bend!!! It's a pretty darn big deal around here , I can tell you that. We arent originally from here as most of you know and still dont live in town, but on an acreage outside of town, so we're alittle out of the loop! LOL We live on a gravel road ,but when you get into town in this road is then paved. All I can say , is you know you live in a small town when they close the street to set up the carnival! LOL I LOVE IT!

So I googled it just to see what would come up , and what do you know, NB has it's own website. How cute is this! LOL Small town life

Ok , so right in the middle of righting this , I realized I had forgotten that I needed to take some pictures for this little "Texture" project, before I leave, and I wouldnt have time tonight so I had to go now, for morning light. I left the computer on, crabbed my camera, and OH MY GOSH.... I just had a ball!!! I am so far behing now, I cant believe it , but I dont even care, because that was so much fun! I was just taking pictures of chipped paint, fences, concrete, you name it. I was just lost in it! I stopped by the old cemetary on the gavel road just out of town because I wanted a picture of this old fence. There was on old guy mowing with a tractor. As I was taking pictures I could hear the tactor getting closer and closer, and I thought, Oh great, he's probably going to come over and give me the "What are you doing here?" routine. He did come over and stop the tractor, but he said, "I just gotta know what the significance is of that tree your taking pictures of?" LOL Well, I told him it was the fence that I was interested in at the moment ,and then proceded to try to explain what I was doing , you know , the whole "Texture thing". I bet I talked to this old guy for 40 minutes all about the history of the town. What the oldest building in town is, where the masonary factory used to be, how the leaves of milk weeds used to be used for floatation devices in WW2, you name it, we talked about it! It was SO COOL! He was so friendly and so full of interesting facts, I could have talked (listened) to him all day. It was kind of funny though, because after he talked to me about all this stuff, he said, "now , tell me again, what you mean by TEXTURE?" LOL

So I dont forget , yesterday I meant to post a couple of blogs you should definatly check out if you have time. The first one is Becky's ( her picture of us yesterday, is better) LOL
She always has an amazing blog!

And the other one that I'm so excited to tell you all about it by Nathalie Kalbach, she is a very talented scrapper that lives in Germany, and has started this incredably cool site , (Scrapbooking - Trends und Techniken), all about Scrapbooking. She does a great job of haveing lots of step by steps on different techniques and, it's just filled with information. Alot of it is in German of course, but she does interviews and other things that are in English also. I have a secret, but if you check her site in the next few days , you'll see what it is!!LOL
Otherwise I'll tell you more about it when I get home!

Sunshine and Summertime

Today was a "girlfriend" day! I had so much fun today! Got in the car this morning to run a few errons first, but then to Becky's for lunch! I have really missing chatting with her! It was a absolutely gorgeous day , sitting out on her deck by the pool chatting and eating a yummy veggie sandwich. It was so fun to sit and look at some of the projects we've each been working on since we were together last. That girl does beautiful work ,and her photography is just AMAZING! I could have sat and chatted all day! The time went way to fast!

When Bec and I first met , we just chicked! We laugh now ,and talk about how we barely new eachother , when we took off for a CK convention in KC one weekend! We talked so much , that trip just flew by! Funny how with some people you just find that connection right away, and know your going to be good friends!

I am sure if it werent for Becky's encouragement I probably would have never persuded even sending any of my work in for publication. She still reminds me of the time I said, "if I could just get ONE thing published, I wouldnt care if I ever get another one... I'd just be happy with that!".... Yeah right!

After I left Becky's I had some things I needed to drop off at Debs. I needed to keep moving , because I still had lots to do today, with only one day left before I leave...........BUT.... Debs house is so warm and inviting, everytime I stop there , it's hard for me to get going again! This girl has such a way with decorating! Everything is just set up in such a creative way. And trust me , you never get bored, because this girl moves things around Constantly! LOL I need her to come re-vamp my house!

It was time for me to make my run to Walmart and then head to out to Paula's on the way home...but lucky for me, Deb had made me a CD with some great tunes on it, so I had the radio Cranked! The first song was "Sunshine and Summertime", and it was just so symbolic of the kind of day I was having. I was loving it!

Thanks Deb , I LOVE that CD!!!!

I took a picture of Paula and I , but it didnt turn out! (darn) That happens sometimes when you're trying to hold the camera out and take it of yourselves! LOL

Anyway, I'm so excited because Paula submitted the Art doll to Altered ARTs Magizine that she made the day she was over here, (same day I made mine). They are Very different from eachother, but both really funky. Anyway, I had submitted mine to them for the Art doll Call , and it got picked up. Now Paulas got picked up! So now they will be in the same issue together. How fun it that! This is the first thing Paula has submitted and it got published!!! Woo Hoo! You go girl!!!! I also got a chance to look at some of the Artist Trading Cards she's been working on ,and they are each just a total work of ART!

I enjoyed every minute of this day spend with my girls!!!!!!

Today is this little sunshines birthday! She is still on tour, so I want her to know we are thinking about her today! I LOVE these pics of her , when she was a little squirt. The one at the top is her and her Aunt Vic nap'n on the couch (somebody's nap'n , somebody's not!) LOL
The one where she's laughing is , a picture of her and Greg,(my nephew-sister Sharons son).
Seems as though, she is thinking that getting marker on her hand is pretty darn funny. Thats "SO" Neely!

Birthday Neely!!!

you are so loved!!!

I think it's SUMMER!

I can tell you one thing... It was "warm" out today! I had to run into Omaha to pick up some things, and run a couple of errons. Well for some reason my airconditioner is acting up. (You can guess where this is going). So first they are resurfacing Industrial by "Sam's" Club (where I was headed), so I wait in traffic...inching and inching along. Then later I'm on Center street(where 3/4 of my errons are) to find out for some reason tons of traffic lights arent working at intersecions from 90th to 114th. Traffic was not moving! I was hungry , thirsty and HOT!( Getting Crabby now!) Oh, and did I mention that I was just at Sam's and had gotten all the hamburger to make patties for our big family get together on the 4th? Getting alittle concerned that it's now about 120 degrees in the car. AHHHH! Anyway, finally I see light at the end of the tunnel.... A SONIC!!!! A diet Cherry Lime Aide is all that can save this day!!!! A buck 80 later, I'm hit'n the open road for home , air con, on is good!

I am telling you this... if you have never had a Diet cherry limeaide ,then you should run, (not walk) to your nearest Sonic right now, and partake of this refreshing drink! LOL
Gezzzz. could somebody get me a gig doing Sonic comercials? LOL

I'm feeling chatty today, so I have some other things I wanted to tell you about . First of all, I wanted to say thanks to the girls that have been stopping by from Scrap Muse and Commenting. I started this blog as just a way to keep in touch with family ,and to share pictures with them, I never have anything too exciting to say, and I really dont usually like to write that much , so I didnt really intend to share it beyond that. But you girls share your blogs and so much of yourselves and your lives with me, you ARE like fam to me. So thanks for comming around and for the comments you leave, I love reading them! Some of the stuff you'll see here and the stuff you see over at the Muse may be the same... one seems to run into the other! LOL

Here is the link to the June Scrap Muse News Letter if anyone is interested

The layout of mom that I posted earlier , and the one of my porch are in there, and an article I did on using different kinds of flowers on your layouts. ( giv'n the fam the info) LOL

Also wanted to show you guys this
They had sent me the coolest box of goodies to work with ,and I sent them an email thanking them. I told them that I alread had some their stamps and how much I loved them . The contacted me , and asked if they could use a quote on their website.

Ok, that's all the excitment for today gang. I have a big mess out all over my room right now involving lots of BLACK paint... tell you more later! LOL

And the week begins

This day just seemed to fly by, but atleast I feel like I did get quite a bit done! I'm counting down the days now ,before I leave for Canada, so I have lots to accomplish before Saturday!
I had two projects I was waiting to hear okays on from Scrapbook Answers , and got those! YAY! Got all my windows washed , inside and out, and had mom out for dinner tonight. It was so nice at the end of the day, to sit down and chat with mom. I feel like I just dont get to have her out for dinner often enough. It was a great night to grill!
Today was also the "upload" day at Scrap Muse! I love that! So if you have time, check out all the gorgeous stuff the girls did with this months kit. These papers were so beautiful!!! I loved this kit! Here are three of my layouts from this months kit. My mom, my front porch ,and baby Kirsten (Cameron and Carries new baby), (my brother Dans first granddaughter). Is she a little doll or what?

Fathers Day

To all the Fathers ... I hope your day was an enjoyable one. For those of you "with" Fathers, I hope you got to spend time with yours, or at least talk with them on the phone ,and tell them that you love them, and for those of you , like me ,who no longer have your dad here to share this day with , I hope it was filled with happy memories of times spent with him.

I decided to post this layout I did of my dad, even though it is one I did a long time ago. It was published in "Scrapbook Trends", and was my first published work, using "Crafty Secrets"products, so I was thrilled! My dad is the handsome guy on the far left.

Love ya Dad!

Taking a walk with my camera

The sun came out this afternoon and it was just beautiful with the sun shining on all the lilies that are blooming out in the trees right now. Decided to grab my camera and just take a walk up the road a ways.
It's amazing when you just slow down and look, all the really cool things you see. I kind of had to laugh a couple of times when I was zoomed in taking pictures of my found beauty,(the weeds), and the farmers go by, in their big farm equipment, and look at me , like.. "What the heck is she taking pictures of ????" They always just smile at me and wave with the standard, one finger wave, that small town folks give everyone,(whether they know them or not). But I'm sure they drive away thinking . Coo Coo!!!

I've never lived in the country before, so I really enjoy all the nature out here. There are a few things I have learned since moving here... yep , you guessed it , I'm gonna share! ( boy my blog is just a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge huh?) LOL

Things I've learned about living in the country

See that wild rose picture up there. Well, you don't have to go to Earl May and spend a fortune on those, to plant around your house like I did, when we first moved here... Because THE DITCH IS FULL OF THEM!

If your dogs run through poison ivy, and you hug them ... YOU WILL get poison ivy!

You know you live in the country if the antenna for you high speed internet, is on the grain tower in town.

Dogs and skunks don't mix!

If you live on a gravel road, you never have to wash your car again, because if you do, the next day, it wont look like you did any way.

Snakes are stupid, no matter how much you scream when you see them, they keep coming around!

And last but not least... Toad poop it MUCH bigger than you would ever think!!!!
Oh yeah, one other thing, I didnt ever know milk weed plants boom, but looks like they do, huh?

You just never know

What I might post on this crazy blog! Wes was home to day, and just like when he was little he would always come in from outside with some little treasure of nature to share. Today it was this walking stick! Pretty cool huh? Well, I just had to "google" , to see if I could learn a bit more about ...... I'm sharing the knowledge..........

Walking Sticks
Masters of DisguiseYou'd have to look pretty closely at this tree to notice that there was a bug on it. The walking stick insects are very highly specialized insects that have adapted to their environments by blending in. You can probably guess that they are called "walking sticks" because they really look like sticks with legs. They come in many colors and sizes, all depending on the type of tree or bush they like to live in. The plants these insects live in are their primary source of food. Giant stick insects are some of the longest insects in the world. In fact, the longest insect on record is a stick insect of the species Pharnacia kirbyi, found living in the rainforests of Borneo, and it can grow up to 20 inches (50cm) long.
( whew , glad, ours was just a baby!) There, now you probably know more than you want to know about Walking sticks! LOL

Well, that was pretty much the excitement for the day , until Wes called a couple of hours later , after he had headed back to Wayne. He was about a mile from the farm house he is moving into with a couple of other guys for the summer, when he came up to an intersection. He was doing about 50, and there was a grove of trees so I couldn't see that there was anything comings from the other direction. (Although THEY had a stop sign). Well, out into the intersection came a huge piece of farm equipment. It was an very elderly farmer who blew right through the stop sign. Thank God , Wes thought fast ,and had his seat belt on! He knew that, at that speed , and on gravel, he would have never gotten stopped, so he took the ditch. He is fine. He wasn't hurt at all, thank God! The Car is drivable, but not sure how much damage yet. The old man was out of the machinery and over to Wes ,before Wes was settled enough to get out of the car. He was pretty shook. The farmer used the machinery to pull the car out the the ditch. Wes said ,if he hadn't had his seat belt on , he would have never been able to keep control of the car after it hit the first bump going into the ditch. I am just SO thankful he is ok!

Catching up!!!

I have to catch up on my blogging!!! LOL I was
gone yesterday , dogsitting, my other two favorite dogs in the world. Miss Foxy, and Miss Nikki. These are are seriously as spoiled as my dogs are! hahaha! We had a fine time together, and REALLY bonded about 6am when it started to thunder! I found out my dogs arent the only ones freaked out by storms. I love you girls!!!
Foxy and Nikki

I took these pictures of the flags on Flag day yesterday. In Fremont they line both side of Military street all the way through town with flags. Its really something to see. Kinda cool!
I mailed of 5 of the projects I did for Scrapbook Answers yesterday! Whew! I'm feeling a little less over whelmed. I still have two things to finish up, but that should be done this weekend. I'm not complaining! So thankful they want my work!
Wes is home tonight, so I'm shutting down the computer to go chat with the boy!

These are a few of my favorite things.....

Fun , Friends, Food, shopping, ...yep, this day had alittle bit of it all! Today Deb and I went to Lincoln ,and had an amazing brunch at Jan's(sister) house. Jan's house is like a page out of "House Beautiful" anyway, but that girl sets the most gorgeous table. It was so FUN to spend the afternoon with the girls.

We hit 3 different scrapbook stores a fabric store and cool gallery. As always the day just flew by way too fast. Deb and I hit Sonic for a diet cherry lime aid for the road. A perfect end to the perfect day! (If you havent heard me rave about diet cherry lime aids from Sonic yet.... OH MY GOSH!!! They are SO GOOD! You have to give them a try!)

Deb and I chatted and laughed so hard on the way home, I was drained!!!!.... I seriously fell asleep in the reclyner when I got home! LOL (I NEVER do that!) It was just a really nice day!

Lucky for me!

Lucky for me, I have this woman for my mother. I stopped over at mom's today when I was in town, just to chat for a bit. I would be happy, if I knew I had been half the good role model for my children, that our mom has been for us. She just amazes me! To be almost 85 years old , and have the active life she has , is really something! Her house and yard are always spotless, she volunteers forRed Cross at the Hospital once a week, plays, canasta, bunko, goes to church circle, makes food and works at church for name it, she does it. When I stopped today, she had just gotten back from a walk. She doesnt let anything stop her!

I got another big project finished yesterday , and it was okay to the next. Yippee! My flight it lined up for my trip to Canada now, so I'm on a mission to get thing wrapped up, so I can focus on that. I'm excited , be cause this is the first time I'm flying into Vancouver, and it's a straight through flight from Omaha. (FAST)!!! Usually I fly into Seattle, and then it's a 2 hour drive from there. This will seem like a breeze!

The day after I get back the Florida fam, will all be here! YAY!!! Can't wait to see them!!!! Dawns family is comming too! One of these days I'm going back to Florida to hang with those guys..... the time the boys and I spent with Dawns family a few years ago, was the most fun, I think I've ever had! We had some good laughs! Did you hear that Stannis's???? Better get my room ready! LOL And remember I like my pina colada's with Coconut Rum. .. One for each hand. LOL

Enjoy the Coffee?

When you read down a big, you'll understand why I titled this "Enjoy the coffee" . LOL

Just wanted to touch base with everyone, on how my friend Johns brother is doing. Wes stayed at Johns until he had to go to work yesterday, and then I went. I was really proud of Wes for volunteering to help out. He even mowed Johns yard. I'm sure the dogs got plenty of attention, because Wes is a dog lover like his mama! LOL Foxy and Nikki are probably missing him to day. Anyway, I didnt have to stay last night, as John got back around 9:30pm. His brother is doing much better. Awake, and Ventilator removed! The doctor said 99% of people as bad as he was, don't recover, so he was very lucky! Thankyou for your prayers!

I got this email today from Becky(cousin), and it's really worth reading! Decided , it was a good thing to share. I don't drink coffee, but I'm not picky about what I drink my Diet Mt Dew out of!!! Really , I'm not! LOL

This makes a lot of sense, if we read between the lines of which most of US fail to do in our life on this planet called EARTH. So......
Enjoy The CoffeeA group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests coffee, the Professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the coffee, and the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and do not change the quality of Life. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided."So, don't let the cups drive you... Enjoy the coffee instead.Author Unknown

Big Boy Toys

What is it with Boys and stuff like this??? Motors, gears, greasy stuff, the smell of gas... I swear , they live for it!

When Wes came home today, what do you think the first thing he did was? Straight to the garage to check out Jarads new toy! Trust me, I've been dealing with this "boy thing" for a few years now, and I've seen it plenty of's like they just go into a zone! Maybe it's like girls and "Shopping" , or something? That's about all I can relate it to.
So anyway, as much as the mother in me worries about the thoughts of one of them getting hurt, it was cool to see them out there checking it out and taking the talk about it. As they are growing up ,it's nice to see them getting along ,and apprieciating eachother for who they are. They are very different in alot of ways , yet very much alike in others.

I guess I should be thankful I've managed to get them to 20 and 24 without having a motorcyle.
Atleast this is a dirt bike , not somthing he'll be taking on the hwy.

I have to laugh at Jarad, he's working so many hours, but he wants to ride it so bad that is sets his alarm to get up early, so he has time. That alarm goes off , and goes off , and goes off, every 15 minutes, for what seems like hours! Finally, he comes dragging out. Today, he came out and then I found him alseep on the couch???? Poor kid, he does work alot of hours, I'll give him that! I know he works Saturday again this week. I hope he gets some time Sunday to (safely) enjoy his new BIG BOY TOY!

Thankful for "health".

Sorry I didnt get around to blogging yesterday. I just got so wrapped up in work and everything going on, I just couldnt find the time, until now. I guess my "blog talk" today, is just about being thankful we are all healthy for the most part. As we get older, I think that's something we think about more and more often.
I got a phone call yesterday from my friend (since Junior high) John. He said his brother Rob was in the hospital in intensive care, with a blod clot in his chest, near his heart. ( late 40's with no prior health issues). John took the first flight out for Idaho early this morning to be with him. Last I heard Rob was in critical contition and now on a vetalator. This is such a scary time for their family , so could you all please keep them in your prayers.
I am usually the "official" dogsitter for Johns dogs, when he has to be out of town, but Wes is going to be hanging out with the girls (the dogs) the next few days. He has a couple of days off, and was planning on hanging out with some friends in Omaha anyway, so he will stay at Johns with the dogs. That will help me out too, then I can get my work done here at home , where my supplies are. (Thanks Wes~!)

Call someone you love today , and tell them.....just because you do!

Begining of a BUSY week!

Silly me, I was actually thinking things were going to slow down around here. LOL This week is going to be a busy one. I have 4 assignments due for Scrapbook Answers by Monday and stuff I'm in the middle of working on for CS all over my room. (messy). Dont get me wrong , I'm happy for the work. I feel so lucky to get to do something I love so much for a job. (It's a good thing, because I spend ALOT of time in this room!!!!) LOL
I spent most of the day today in Omaha picking up supplies for projects, so tomorrow it will be work, work ,work!
I dont have any photos to post today , so I'm posting a new layout I did, using Fancy Pants Papers. This little girl was one of the flower girls at Amy and Johns wedding. What cutie huh!

Bendig Wedding

Tammy was a Beautiful Bride, and Cody was looking pretty darn Handsome himself! They are so cute together. I'm posting a few of the photos I took on my digital camera on here. I took tons with my other camera, but need to get them developed. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was set up so nice with more food than you could imagine. Ron and Paula had the food tables looking so nice. Pork and Chicken, potatoes, salads, veggies, buns, ect... Then Chocolate fountains with all kinds of yummy fresh fruit and goodies to dip. It was a SPREAD!

Always good to see everyone. It's crazy how fast everyone's kids and grandkids grown up!
Jan and Keith picked up mom and brought her with them to the wedding and to the reception. It was good to sit and chat with them also.
Well, we sat and chatted MOST of the time, but you know those fun loving people.....They even managed to drag Jan and mine's butts out on the dance floor a few times. I mean DRAG... We don't go willingly! LOL I was a ton of FUN!

Ellen and mom just before the wedding. The wedding was at the new Catholic church. It was just beautiful!

So Proud of The Tilly's!!!!

Super show put on by the Tilly's last night!!!! We had such a blast. They are just the nicest kids ever. So friendly and conciderate. All of them were to sweet to take time to thank their families for being there.

I was thinking last night , as I was watching them perform... they whenever I buy a graduation card for one of the kids graduating from highschool or college... it always seem to have the words or the message somewhere in it... FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!!!!......................

Well, I'm so pround of these kids....because they Really ARE!!!! WAY TO GO TILLY'S!!!! I'm SO proud of you!!!!!

A fun night was had by all!!!

Wes and Nathaniel (Brent and Diana's son)
