Class Shabby Vintage House

This is the Shappy Vintage house class, I'll be teaching at the
" Midwinter Fantasy Retreat" in KC in Feb.

Don't forget about the generous Giveaway Sara is letting me host here on my blog...

Of course.... I started with one of the Sweet Chips Chipboard Houses from Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage.

I'm really looking forward to this retreat weekend. My sister Jan has agree to come along. YAY

Papers from the Classic Paper Pad, and stamps from the French Mail and Card Sentiments sets.

It was fun to put some of those old photos to good use. Those two boys just crack me up!

they are just way toooo serious! lol
Everything has a coat of Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. This is one that I use on everything.. it's just so easy to mist on anything... without overpowering it with color.. .it just gives it this soft Shimmery look. ( like glitter..but I DOESN'T FALL OFF! YAY! no mess!

The look on this little girls face.. is a hoot!

Of all the houses I've done.. I still really enjoy every new one I get to do. Doing them with these one of my very favorite.

I usually take my project photos outside in the natural light ...but when it's below zero , like it has been this week.. forget it!!

In every class I to a drawing for a give-a-way... so here are the packs of vintage goodies I put together for the retreat classes. ****************************************************************
Check out the Glimmer Mist Blog for some of the projects I've been working on , using the new CHA release products and some beautiful creations the "Glimmer Girls" have been working on.
Scrappy Gourmet has all kinds of challenges and fun things going on to celebrate their 1 year anniversary... CHECK IT OUT HERE. ( just scroll down ..just under the gallery of layouts). Dee and Jill are letting all of us girls run a challenge on our blogs, and the prize will be one of our kits. I'll be posting mine SOOON!
Okay.. on a personal note... my baby boy is moving out on his own... so I'm a tiny bit sad. You know, as parents you work all your life to (try to) lol raise reponsable adults, teaching them everything they need to know to go out and make it in the world on their own... to be self sufficient. ..then the day comes that they are ready to do that.. and as happy as you are for them.. you want to say .. NO , YOU CANT GO... YOUR NOT OLD ENOUGH.. YOU STILL NEED ME.... AHHHHH. I'm happy for him... and excited for him...but tonight when he and his friends where here moving some of his stuff out of his room... It was kind of sad for this mama. He is 22, and he wont be far away..but still.. my last one is flying from t he nest.
Feeling teary tonight.

ps.. I have to tell myself ...there are mothers out there sending their sons... younger than mine.. so far away off to fight a war! My heart goes out to them. I have NOTHING to compain about!

Thinking of you tonight in your empty nest. I tell myself the same thing all the time. I am so happy they are doing what we raised them to do, but it tugs so hard at my heart to know has fast all these years have passed. I loved all the "little boy" and "little girl" year, and it just isn't possible that they are grown.
Loving your houses, and off to check out Glimmer Mist. Hugs to you.

Once again, beautiful artwork Vicki! I got your package day before last, THANK YOU! You did not need to send anything in return, you silly girl! But I'm oh so glad you did, cuz it all looks so fun! I can't wait to use some of it. The tag is beautiful and I'm still in shock that I have an original piece of your work in my hot little hands! Thank you!

ps. my heart goes out to you regarding your son moving out. I would be sad, just like you. Let yourself feel the pain, you'll come through it just fine with time!

I so understand about the last leaving the nest. It helps to have a busy schedule and have him call often at can keep busy until the call time. They never really leave home, they always return back to there roots, especially with a wonderful home like you have provided. I am sending big hugs, I soooooo understand.

Everything looks so pretty. How exciting that you are teaching that class! I wish I could go and learn from someone so talented. I've tried scrapping, but I just don't have IT. Well, I hope you get to feeling better about your son moving out. I think though, that we all still need our moms, no matter how old or far away we are:)
