Giveaway... second part

First I have to share something fun.... I'm oh so tickled to have the cover of "Somerset Memories",April/May issue. And especially happy that it's the fabric and paper book I created with photos of my family. The man and woman (far right on the photo) are my Great Grand Parents. There are photos of some of the other pages inside this issue.. and the rest are going to be up on stampingtons website. I don't see it there yet.. but I'll link it when it is.

Today was a "catch up day" around here. I finished up packing kits and getting them mailed. A little laundry, unloading the dishwasher, vacuuming .. all that fun stuff. Wes stopped by for a couple hours. He's gone now .. so the pups are "being sad". Oh..they LOVE it when he's here. They know he'll give them some major play time. lol

Didn't see Jarad, but chatted with him on the phone today. He and Kate went out of town for a fancy party weekend for her work On Sat and Sun. Sounds like they had a good time. I give that girl credit, she can get him to get a haircut and chin hair trim... easier than I ever could. YAY! If you've got some photos Kate... you need to share. lol

All the painting is done now..thank Goodness. I know Dan was getting tired of painting. I love the freshly painted walls. Although the "Pond Lily" blue I chose for out bedroom is a bit "bluer" than I was hoping, when all was said and done. I'm hoping the brown accents will tone it down some.

Any way... on to the giveaway.....

I promised that this week I would giveaway the other three , of the NEW "Creative Scraps" from Crafty Secrets.... There are six different sheets .. last week I gave away three and this week I'm giving away the other three. I'll draw three names this Friday. One person will win the Vacation sheet, one person will win the Girlfriends sheet, and, One person will win the Calendar sheet. You have from now until Friday morning to leave a comment in this post, if you'd like your name put in for the drawing for a chance to win one of these sheets.( you can see below...each actually comes with two different sheets back to back.)

Okay... I cant close with out sharing this photo! I was talking with my friend Sandy .. (who is such positive person...her glass is always half full, not half empty)... and we were talking about how much attitude and thinking positive can help in daily life. We probably started talking about it because I was saying how much a dislike the fact that I feel like I'm always saying... "oh I have so much to get done", "lifes so busy", or "I'm so tired" ... lol Really, I'm try to stop... because it certainly doesn't help you feel any better. Right? lol Well, she was saying she has this new Mantra.. and that you're supposed to print it off and put it in different places around the house. If nothing else.. It's a reminder to me when I see it to think positive thoughts! .. and to be thankful for all the good things in my life!
But I gotta tell ya... it does kind of make me laugh when I walk in the bathroom and see it hanging on the mirror.
Oh .. trust me... Wes had a hay day with this one. lol
I just had to share! lol

Oh.. we had a fantastic day yesterday at Becky's Loft. Such a fun group of girls, fun projects, great food.... and.... the atmosphere there just adds something so special. It's just such a cool place.
Thought I'd share some photos from yesterday. I'm sure Bec will have some great photos that she'll be sharing on her blog tomorrow.(Mon). You can see her Website HERE
But before I forget .... I know there were a few of you so emailed asking about kits. I managed to put together a few extras, so if you're interested, shoot me an email at I've got 5 kits here , Two are already spoken for so I've got 3 to sell. They are $25 plus shipping.
The glass piece slides out from the top, so I took it out to get less glare for a better photo to show you.

So here is the morning class showing of their creations.

I tried to remember to grab my camera when I thought of it, but still wished I would have taken more photos. I didn't even get one of lunch all set out. ..But Becky made a delicious chicken Caesar salad and hard rolls, I made these fruit tarts.

Here's Becky teaching her class in the afternoon.

She made the most darling little album. She has such a way with design.. and with mixing patterned papers. Little details that make it so "her".

I surprised my sister by inviting my niece Neely to come for the day. It was SO fun , having them both there for the day! Here's Neely with her album she made it Becky's class.

It was a great day all around. Huge thanks to Becky for hosting!
Below are the kit's made up that are available. Deb and Mary Anne... yours are coming!

It's Friday.. and yep..... you know the routine. lol It's Taylors Sketch Challenge Day!

Taylors beautiful sketch for this week....

I flipped the sketch, ( bad vicki), lol, because I was determined so use this image, because it's just so darn cute. Its one of the Easter images from the new "Creative Scraps Sheets. I used some Fancy Pants papers for good measure. Super simple card this week. I had every intention of making another , a bit more involved, last night...but things were way to busy around here.. so it just didn't happen.

There is no doubt in my mind that these girls will have something beautiful to share today!
Check em out.
Featured Sampler is Heather Pulvirenti
and the cupcake crew
AND..... another treat.....
How about a sweet Spring Treat? Taylor is giving away a FREE Tiny Twinkle to one random winner from among all the people who upload their sketch challenge cards to Paper Craft Planet using the same TECC61 keyword. So hop on over and upload your card at PaperCraftPlanet and you could be the winner of some cute twinkle bling! Its as easy as that!!!

Okay.... I have to share this because it's CUTE CUTE CUTE.. and it's a great way to end the work week on a HAPPY NOTE. HERE

I found this on YouTube.. it's an International Class of fourth graders dancing to Tilly and the Wall's song "Beat Control". It just tickles me silly!

( if you're new to my blog and haven't heard me carrying on about Tilly and the Wall... they are a band that my niece is in) Below is the video of them singing the song, if you want to see it.( Neely is the second one in on the left. The other blonde , that comes up with the blue sky background, part way through).

anyway... Enjoy HERE

A little Fancy Pants Project

This little Fancy Pants Project is on the Fancy Pants Blog, if you are interested in supplies and directions. Easy little box from Hobby Lobby, that I just added wooden beads for feet to.
All the papers, felt, ribbon, buttons, and trim are all Fancy Pants.

What a dream.... pom pom trim. What more could a girl ask for? lol

nothing like FP felt. It's so sturdy to work with. Not that thin flimsy stuff. Great for stitching on.

I have some running to do today, so this will be a brief post. Last minute things for the class Sat at Bec's loft. I'm so excited about Saturday. I think it's going to be such a fun day. Becky is defiantly one of those people that just puts that special touch on everything.. and I love that! I know everything will be just beautiful!
Cant wait to be able to share some photos of the day with you. Soon
Now... enjoy your day!
Tomorrow is Tayors sketch day.. so see you then!

More Scrappbookers Clubhouse kit projects

It's a BEAUTIFUL day outside today.. and boy to I wish I felt better so I could be out enjoying it. This sinus thing has got to come to an end soon right? grrr..
Probably wont help that the house had to be opened up some today, but Dan is painting the ceilings downstairs. He didn't think he should do it today because the smell would make me worst..but know it was a pretty nice day.. I'm thinking he would have rather gone to the cabin. lol I was like... "Oh... no no dear.. I'll be just fine.. you can paint.. really you can". lol
* I'll probably be coughing all night..but at least the ceiling IS painted!*

I'm finishing up the last of my projects for my Guest Designer month over at Scrapbookers Clubhouse. I loved working with this kit.
What? I know... I did a 12x12.. weird huh?

There were some great Prima Flowers in this kit too! Oooooh la la

I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my mom and I for SO long. I adore the one my friend Liv did for me , but I hadn't scrapped this photo yet.. so I decided I use . Well, I'll I can say is it was draining,... for being ending up being such simple layout with hardly any journaling. Draining because I tried and tried to journal about how much I love my mom and what a wonderful person she is ... how lucky I am to have such an amazing woman for my mother, how strong , and smart and beautiful she is(inside and out)............and everytime I'd try ...tears came. I'd stop and try again, ... and end up with tears running down my face again.
I realize that somethings can just be said with the heart. So my only journaling reads...
"I love her more than words can say"

I shared with the girls over at SBCH how I cheat when adding buttons to my pages. lol I have actually been doing this for a long time..( shameful .. I know) lol.. but now I'm coming clean, because I'm not going to look at this as a "lazy way out" anymore. It works great and I like the look too. Instead of getting out a needle and thread or looking through all my embroidery floss for just the right color... I just use a little sliver of the paper..... see

I used to call it my lazy way.. but now I'm liking it. lol

it doesn't leave a big bump under the button where you would normally tie the thread.
I just do this. ( shhhhhhh...)

Okay.. that's all my secrets for now.

Molly was thankful for a beautiful sunny day, to lay on the porch.
I'm thankful the ceilings are painted

Friday, March 20, 2009

I'm dragging this week... feeling a bit under the weather. Which is to bad because the weather itself has actually been really really nice. Wish I could be out there enjoying it. But....
It's Friday!'s my card for Taylors Sketch Challenge.

I love me some butterflies. Always have.

Here's Taylors sketch #60
Please come pop over and check out the creations from this weeks Cupcake Sampler
and the rest of the talented CupCake Crew

and here are the supplies I used. ( how lazy is that?) lol

I've been tagged by Viv to post the 6th photo in the 6th folder of my Pictures file. My photo is below . It's a photo from when Dan and I were in Bellingham WA.
Okay.. I'm tagging

Here are the rules:
• Open your photo folder on your computer
• Open the 6th folder of photos
• Select the 6th picture
• Post the picture on your blog with a description
• Invite six friends to join the challenge
• Link your six friends to your blog post

I just have to share one more photo. This one from yesterday when Wes was home. I stepped out side for just a minute because it was so nice. I guess Wes thought I would catch that frisbee... well I was pretty much busy thinking I was taking a picture? duh
See that frisbee coming towards my forehead???? Nuff said. THUD!

( I think , by the look on Wes's face in this picture, he realized I wasn't going to see it, once it left his hand... ooops) lol
Good thing it's a fabric Frisbee huh. Still stung a bit. lol
Stop laughing! Shame on you.

Worldwin GD project

This is going to be a short post.. as I'm feeling icky. Not sure if it's a cold or just sinuses..but making me miserable , none the less.
Sharing a ( all cardstock) layout I did for Worldwin cardstock for a Guest Designer project this month. You can see photos, supply list, and directions HERE in their blog.

That cool textured paper you see is called Ruche.

it was really fun to work with. They have so many different kinds of cardstock , it's amazing.

and.. it's always fun to strap a photo of the "Griffinizer" lol

Okay.. funny for the day.
When you were young , did your mom put Vicks Vapo Rub on your neck and chest and put a cloth around it. ( if not.. I'm sure it sounds really weird to you..but it's something I grew up with). Anyway, yesterday my throat was so sore, that's what I did, only I used a bandanna to put around my neck, after I put the Vicks on. Well, Wes stopped here on his way to Omaha, came in .. took one look at me and said..." Planning to Rob a bank today mom?". I could not figure out what he was talking about ...UNTIL.. I remember the red bandanna was still tied around my neck.
No bank robbing for me today, I think I'll put on some more Vick's , my bandanna , and go back to bed for a while. lol
Hope you have a great day!

One Gorgeous kit!

I've been having a great time with the girls over at Scrapbookers Clubhouse this month , as guest designer. What a super nice bunch of girls. And the Kit...... Gorgeous! Well, it involves Fancy Pants papers... nuff said! lol

You can check it out here

This is my first layout finished with the kit.

The photo is my niece Neely. Which just reminds me of something I was going to tell you. The other night I was watching TV ( actually just listening , while I was working in my room), and all of the sudden, I heard "Pot kettle back", which is a "Tilly and the Wall " song. (the band Neely is in). It was a commercial for an upcoming movie, called 'Observe and Report". When I called Neely, all excited to tell her, I had heard it, she didn't even know about it , "for sure". She knew it was possible... but the band hadn't heard for sure. She was excited. I looked up the trailer for the movie, on line and didn't hear it on that one..but here is the song.

Pot Kettle Black

Here is their website with the Sesame Street video and others.

** Okay..the proud aunt is finished talking. lol

I can tell this is going to be a great kit to work with.

I laughed so hard when I read Linda's post yesterday, about the Spring Salad. lol Trust me Linda.. it's good! My favorite!

Try it , you'll like it. lol

Spring Salad

18 marshmallows
1 cup water
1 package lime gelatin
1/2 cup hot water
1 cup cottage cheese
1 small can crushed pineapple
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Melt 18 marshmallows in 1 cup water. Dissolve 1 package lime gelatin in it plus 1/2 cup hot water. Let set until slightly thickened. Add 1 cup cottage cheese, 1 small can crushed pineapple, 3/4 cup chopped nuts

Okay... off to finish my sugar free hot chocolate. I'm not a coffee drinker but needed something warm because I woke up with a sore throat. I havent been sick for a long long time..but something is brewing I'm afraid.

Enjoy your day!
