Chuncky Canvas

With two more days until the giveaway, I thought I would share another project that was done with images from the "Creating with Vintage Illustrations"CD.   I wanted to show you an altered project,  I started with one of the papers from the CD ( the car background paper), then added my photo , the clock prints, journaling , photo, and the vintage frame in photoshop. I sized it to (8x8) ..the size of my chunky canvas and printed it out on cardstock .  After adhering it to my canvas, I added dimension with other embellishments.
I love that the canvas is about 1 1/2 inches deep :)
( oh.. by the way, I'm re-purposing a canvas I picked up at Hobby Lobby for $1.30) whoo hoo!
Oh.. and the handsome man in the photo... my grandpa :)

It's easy to incorporated a little digital, traditional embellishments, different mediums, stamps ect ect ect... which is exactly what I did here.   I printed my letter "B" and the name ..which it so much easier to do right of the bat, when you have your paper open in photoshop.  So much easier than trying to place it correctly on your already printed paper and running it through your printer.
I added some Glimmer Glam paint here and there, ink, stamped images, and dimensional embellishments, to my base printed piece.

I used a small piece of the background paper under the glass pebble before adding it. I love the fact that I don't have to print off an entire sheet of the paper I want, I can just print what I need, how much and when I want.  Of course there are clock hands on the CD to go with the clock..but I decided to add this real one.  (Adding digital  and traditional = hello hybrid!)

I used my tracing wheel to add to the stitching effect around the vintage looking frame.  The border along the top and the word "Grandpa" are from the "Favorite Fellas"  set of Clear Art stamps from Crafty Secrets.

Okay... Wednesday (the 21st) is the final day to get in on the drawing for the giveaway.  You can still get your name in just by leaving a  comment    HERE
in last weeks post.

(The CD AND the My Book Planner)

Okay.. just had to share this photo of the squirrel trying to get water from the icy bird bath.  (it's funny that he has is front foot on the ceramic turtles back) lol

                                                                        Enjoy the day!
