Christmas lighted jars

I've been so excited to share more of the Christmas papers and images from Crafty Secrets. They are fantastic!   You can read all about them in Sandy's post, HERE  to see lots more peeks and projects and get in on the giveaway!
I'm am so hooked on making these lighted jars.  I've done them before with printed transparencies set inside ( lining the inside of the jar), but I also wondered what it would look like lit with a beautiful image printed on regular printed paper set inside.  I was more than pleasantly surprised! OH my... it is gorgeous lit! The light of the little battery operated tea light shining threw the image is so beautiful!
I wish I could have gotten a good photo of it lit in the dark so you could see it :(

Easy to add the wire and then just embellish with ribbon, sprigs and bells.  Then drop the little tea light in the bottom.

Like I said you and see and read more about them on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog, but there are to different sets for download , "Vintage Christmas"

and "Retro Christmas"

Okay... so I have to share some of the other jars with you , while I'm at it.  Over the weekend I had a get together here with some very dear friends.  A group of 5 of us who have been friends for near 20 years now. We use to work together, and just became life time friends from there.  We have been there for each other through life's joys and sorrows. All of it!  These girls mean the world to me. I am SO blessed to have them in my life!   It was a super fun weekend .... good friends, good food and lots of chatting!
We have made this pact to always plan to have a get together the weekend before Thanksgiving every year..... just for fun.   We used to go out of town for the weekend, shopping ect.. but we've found just getting together at one of our houses and spending time sharing photos and catching up is just the best!
We usually do a little gift giving in the process. lol  Anyway.... here's the jars I made for them.

These have a piece of patterned transparency in them.

I used these printable Crafty Secrets Christmas tags on them also.

again.... battery operated tea light in the bottoms.

I might as well make this one  long post at this point since this next week is a busy one for alot of us with is being Thanksgiving.
Here is a banner I made with papers and bingo cards from the Retro downloads.  OH... this kit is SO fun :)

So you know me, I always have to share some photos after I share projects.   Here are my dear friends, Pam , Daun, Liz and Julie.

I was determined to get a photo of all of us so I set up the tri pod and set the timer on my camera..... looks like I better move quicker next time... lol   ( but then again, cutting off the backside is always good for me). lol

yummy stuff

I think I may have shared this recipe before but ..... if you didnt catch it then, here it is again. '
So easy and so good!
Buffalo Chicken Dip

This is a new one I tried and it is also super easy and really yummy!
Cranberry Feta Pinwheels

We celebrated all our birthdays with this amazing Coconut Cake.   ( My sister got one of  these coconut  cakes at Sams a while back and we thought we had died and gone to heaven. So she got another for me to have for this gathering ) It's Delicious!

Not actually a good "dieting" weekend..but .....

...... drum roll

TWO weeks without......

This is serious!   And the good news is.. no one was maimed or wounded. lol

Okay, enough silliness for now.

I'm sure everyone's week will be a busy one, so I'll tell you all Happy Thanksgiving Now.
We have so much to be thankful for.   We will be spending Thanksgiving as we usually do , with our big family gathering. Although it will be our first Holiday without mom and that will be hard, I know it will be so good for us all to be together.  It always is :)  I cant wait to see everyone!

I'm also excited because I'm going to see Tilly and the Wall this week!! yay!

I am thankful for all of you! Thankyou for taking time in your busy lives to stop by and say hello.  I appreciate it more than you can know :)

Love those lighted jars!
I know you'll miss your mother when you gather for Thanksgiving Day. This time of year brings back so many memories of my own mother - baking, sewing, creating... it's good to remember.

I love these jars! What a fabulous idea :) Thanks for sharing Vic! What a lovely idea to get together once a year like this - I need to make a tradition like that!

I adore your jars!! I made some lit bottles years ago but it was hard to drill a hole in the side so this is so much better.
This is my first Thanksgiving and major holiday without my mother so I can feel your pain. I will be praying for you regarding this.
Happy Thanksgiving.
