More Valentine pretties

Time to share more Valentine pretties from Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage. They now have all of them in there store at Crafty Vintage Girl.
Here are a few simple samples I put together for Sandy to put in the online store just to show off the images and papers.
 Victorian Rose Cards
These Victorian Rose Cards can be used a number of different ways, not just as cards.  Below I used the image alone on the front of glass container.    I love using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L double sided adhesive sheets to adhere labels to jars this way.  The great thing is, "if" you want to change out your decorative jar for the seasons with a different image, it's easy, just lay a wet cloth over the image and let set a few minutes.  You'll be able to lift it off and wipe the jar clean to add a new image.

Below is a simple card I created with one of the other card images.

I used this piece for the inside of the card, which I could stamp a sentiment in, and write a note.

Vintage Valentine Digital Kit

These next two 8x8 mini layouts are showing papers and elements from the  Vintage Valentine Digital Kit from Crafty Secrets.

This Sweet Couple is Jamie and Derrick

and this is Sandy's daughter Katy and her boyfriend Ryan with their pup Gorge :)

Also on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog Sandy is offering  a Free Valentine Printable that is so pretty!  It's...
10 Things I love Valentine Printable
I used it below  with my new
My AccuCut Frame and Bow dies
on this project.

Okay... So...  on to my "Everyday Life" photos.
If you missed my post about this... it's my new commitment to myself  to  not just take photos and document special occasions to preserve memories for myself and my family..but to do that for those "Everyday Life" moments in between... that in the end probably really say more about who we really are.
Some might be important.. some might not....     I think of the kind of photos I wish I had of my grandma and great grandmas day...  it would be so fun to see

Everyday Life  Photo #1
Every morning Dan opens this cupboard to get a cup for his coffee. I dont drink coffee.. so I reach for a class, for juice or water.   Some vintage some Target.. but I love them all.   Polka dots make me happy. The vintage glasses have measuring levels on them and some how to mix certain drinks ( from the 60's).  Always used to make me laugh because when mom was here, and I poured milk in one of those, I'd see her turning it around and around reading it. lol   ps. Dan doesn't really like those cool vintage cafe cups because he says they don't hold enough coffee. lol

Everyday Life Photo #2
This just pretty much sums up what the last few days have been like. Gloooooomy!
This is coming down the road from town, just before our house.  Our house is just past the trees on the left.

Everyday Life Photo #3
This is a part of my weekly routine. Visiting my bff.   I've mentioned before that I have a very dear friend that has been a bestie of mine for 30 some years, who is suffering from early onset Alzheimer's. She is only a few years older than I am... 54.
I'm thankful for every time she remembers who I am, and is happy to see me.
Today we had a nice visit.

Well, other parts of everyday life, are laundry and dinner and both those are calling for my attention at this time.. so  until later.    Take care!

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine gift Bags and Art Group Day

Have you seen the new Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage "Be My Valentine" Digital Art Stamps yet? Oh ..they are so pretty.  I used them on these little gift bags below.  I love that they print in red and in black both.  The sweet little polka dot paper is from the Vintage Valentine Kit
I actually cut those little dove tail ends from with my new bow die. VC106LC

Here they are so you can see the digital stamp images up close.

Sandy has a great FREE download on the Heartwarming Vintage Blog as a gift right now.. so be sure to pop over.

Yesterday was January Art group Gathering, and Paula hosted it at her house.   We decided to make books similar to the one I created here in this post a while back.  But each of us created our books for a different reason and put our won spill on it.   Below is my sister Jans book. She did hers to hold Christmas card photos but it's totally different from mine.  It's so fun to see how everyone creates with their own style.  It's such a beautiful book, and she has lots of photos to fill it.

I'm bummed that this photo turned out blurry..but you can see a better photo of Debs book up close down below.
Deb created a book to be able to add photos of her three darling little granddaughters.  So fun to be able to set out on an end table to share :)

Paula is doing really detailed pretty pages in her book with photos of her family.  It's gorgeous!

Stephanie was a busy little beaver. I loved her first book SO much... then she sold my heart with...
a book for photos of her DOGS!     Man.. I should have thought of that!  And she had the perfect dog book to start with. It was awesome.

As always, I was doing my chatting than creating. lol  ( I do much better locked in my room by myself with no distractions) hahah        I decided to work on a very simple book for my  new mission I've been talking about lately... "Everyday Life" photos.

I'll share with you as I add my photos along the way.

Okay...... enjoy your day my friends!!

"Imagination" canvas Tattered Angels/Canvas Corp

I've been working in this for a while and finally finished it up, so I thought I'd share it today.  It's a 12x12 Canvas from Canvas Corp, done with Tattered Angels Paints

Photos just never do justice to how the gorgeous TA colors blend.   They are just so stunning.  As many years as I've been using them, I somehow always seem to be surprised by they the different effects you can achieve by doing things just slightly differently.

So as I mentioned in yesterdays post, I'm really working on taking more "Everyday" photos to put together in a album all their own.  I'm finding saving my Instagram photos and printing them off  might be the way I'll do that.   If you are on Instagram I'd love to connect with you there. You can find me as    vickichr    but I will be posting here on my blog also :)

Yesterday as I wanted by my China cabinet I glanced over at my Grandmas china as I often do when I walk by.  It hasn't been there that long, since it had been moms, so  it's something new in my china cabinet that I cherish.  I stopped yesterday and, and took a piece out to really look at the pattern.  When we were going thru moms things to get the house ready to sell I feel like it was such a busy and emotional time I feel like I really didn't take time to really look.. think about .. and enjoy, these keepsakes.  Now I was really looking at it and thinking  about all the special occasions that Grandma probably made wonderful dinners  for the family to sit down and enjoy... to celebrate and enjoy being together.   I love them

My other photo .. well, it's defiantly a part of our everyday life.  lol

Remember you still  have today to get in on the giveway. I'll be announcing all the winners of the pre cut dies on my blog tomorrow.   You can read about the giveaway in Saturdays post    Here     All you have to do is leave a comment in that post for a chance to win.

Thanks for stopping by friends!

Barber card Trio... and the everyday

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was a good one. It was Dans weekend to work, so I just caught up on things around here, but sometimes that feels good too. There are always those things that I put off.. because I just don't feel like doing them.( bad , I know..lol)  When I finally cross them off my list it feels great! yay!
I'll share more on my thoughts on "everyday life" lol, after I share a little bit of creativity first :)
These cards are made with Paper from Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage "Barber Shop" Digital Kit and "Mustache Men" Digital Stamps.

I cant even hear the word "Barber" without thinking about my dad taking Weston (our oldest son who is 30 now.. show below) to his barber when he was a little guy.  OH.. Wes was so proud of his "Barber guy" hair cut.  Even his face says it all in this photo. lol PROUD I can even remember the barbers name was Ron...but Wes would call him "The treasure chest guy" because, after he sat still for his hair cut with grandpa, and got the good smell'n stuff put on his hair, Ron would get out this wooden treasure chest and let kids pick out a little trinket toy from it.  You would have thought it was a gold nugget.  Man... this kid could not wait to go to Grandpas Barber... "The Treasure chest guy"

All this got me thinking about a layout I did YEARS ago... probably 8-10 years ago I imagine.  As dated as it is I'm not even going to be embarrassed... lol,  and I'm sharing it, as a reminder of how important it is to scrapbook the "everyday" things in life. These are the things I want to remember.  This silly little layout holds a piece of my heart.

On this same subject. "Everyday photos".  With phones taking such great photos these days, it really makes taking photos anytime that we want to..so easy.   I've decided I'm going to start working on a album of just "Everyday" Life, and  fill it with photos I take of everyday things in my life.  It's my "2013 Everyday" project.  I'll be sharing my photos and my album with you here and I'd love to have you join in if you'd like.     I just keep thinking how I love photos of my parents , grandparents ect...over the years... but I also find myself looking behind them at things in the background of the photos.. like, the stove grandma cooked on, or the dashboard of my dads old work car... ect....      Really, it's just fun to see not just them but what their world and their daily life was like.   Of course they couldn't take photos the way we do, but what if they could have?  Wouldn't you love to see, some of those "daily life" things?  I sure would.
Anyway..... Here are some of my everyday things from the last few days

1.  Winter Evening in Nebraska

2. Wes was home for dinner Sunday night.  After dinner he taught me how to play domino. I loved spending time with him.

3. Cleaned house Saturday and put together a new little vignette for something different to look at during this long winter.
4). Took Daisy with me to try to get her used to staying in the car while I run in somewhere quickly. That way she can go with me more often. (Right now.. she freaks out :(    We're going to have to work on this.

One more things I want to share with you before I close is a link to  Kitty's Pretties.  This week is her first week of sharing a "Pretty of the Week" and she is sharing my tutorial on making Paper Towel Flowers.  Thanks so much Kitty!  You can see it HERE.

Okay friends..... go make some "Everyday Memories" and take photos!

Thanks for stopping by!

Givaways to share the excitment of my new AccuCut die designs

Hi everyone!
I've been so excited to be able to share with you both of my new die designs from AccuCut, I thought it would be fun to host a giveaway and  get to send out  some of both the pre cut die shapes   to a number of people..... say...
12?? ( 6 of each)   Sounds good :)
Read on, and I'll tell you more.  ( she says in her most intriguing voice) lol
I first shared my new bow die.  It comes in two sizes, which you'll be able to see next to each other in one of the photos below.    The bow I used on this project is  the larger size of the two.  This size works great on altered projects while the small one is perfect for cards and tags. You can see more projects with this die and even a short video here on the AccuCut Craft Blog.
The yummy papers I used for this project are new papers from Fancy Pants Designs." Park Bench"

I made the box to hold a little mini album.

I will draw 6 winners to send a set of 4 pre-cut (un-assembled bows)  2 of each size cut from different patterned papers ( all will be different patterned papers, not necessarily these)

( I will also be getting these back into my etsy soon!)

Okay, here is another sample of the second die. It's a Portrait Frame design, but it can be used in a number of different ways.         I love this photo of my mom and dad :)

Papers are from Seven Gypsies
Stamps on the inside are from Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage- "Cherish" Clear Art Stamps

You can see a number of other ways to use this die HERE a previous post.   It can be connected at the top, on the side, so that it can open like I did above, used on a layout, made in to an album, ect

I've cut the pieces out of paper covered chipboard, so there are enough to create a double, free standing piece..as I have above, with a few extra pieces also.
I will draw six winners to send these to also.

12 winners will be drawn Next Friday January 25th.   All you have to do is leave a comment in this post between now and then.

6 people will get pre cut bows
6 people will get pre cut Portrait Frames

Hope your day is fantastic!

"Whatevers" recap

With it being CHA time and Nat and Cat still away at the show, we decided this might be a good month to just use to let everyone catch up with "Whatevers" after the Holidays.  I decided to post a little recap of my projects so far, and I think Cat is planning to do the same. Anyway, check out both Nat and Cats blogs because they always have something awesome to share :)
