A Springy little card

Well, I haven't been in my room creating much lately but the other night I created a card while I was watching a movie with Dan.  I thought I'd share today... along with some "Everyday photos".  ( Giving you a mini break from Wedding related posts.. lol)
I just used some scraps of paper to create this card..but they are Crate paper for the most part.  The butterfly is a self adhesive butterfly embellishment, I found in three packs at the dollar store. I love them.

I also wanted to tell you about an up coming Flea Market my art group girls are putting on again.  Remember when I hosted the one here last fall?  We'll they are hosting it this time at that cool old garage on Hwy 30 in Rogers NE.  Stephanies family now owns the garage.   It's going to be a fantastic place for the fleamarket.   With being busy with the wedding this Spring I wont have as much there to sell as I did for the one here last fall...but the other girls certainly WILL have a lot!       It's going to be great!  If you live in Nebraska.. I hope you make plans to come :)  You can like our facebook page for updates.

I was so excited a while back to hear that my favorite band "Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers" would be playing in Lincoln this month... especially since I wont be going to the show in Mexico next week. ( it's just too close to the wedding time).
You know... I would never miss going to see them when they are playing that close to me........... so tickets were purchased! :)

Before hand, we went for a delishous dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. YUM!

Here we are Julie, Kathy and I.  Kathy is a die hard fan.  It was Julies first Peacemakers show.. so she was excited!   ( notice she bought a T shirt and has already changed into it before the show started :)

Front row of course. Where else would we be? lol

Here was are after the show with the band.

Julie loved the show!

and when we told them this was her first show........ she got a group hug! lol  The look on Nicks face cracks me up!!!  ( what a character he is)
I'm pretty certainly Julie is now a follower. lol

Yesterday I worked on finishing up signs and things.   I was happy to have the biggest one finished.   It's nothing fancy.. the point is for it to be functional, because it will be placed at the fork in the road so people will know that the reception is up the road on the hill and the reception  down below.

We had bad storms here last night, with lots of strong winds and rain.  Tornado warnings.  Sounds like we are in for more tonight.   Praying everyone stays safe first of all...  then praying it gets it all out of it's system so it's nice weather next weekend!!
Thanks friends, for stopping by!

Sharing wedding prep

Well, we are one week from the day now so it's nothing but prep :)  Yesterday a bunch of us  met at Kates moms house  to work on things.  It was a fun day. I tried to snap photo of some of the things we worked on so I could share them with you here. Kate and her sister have been pulling together ideas and pinteresting their little hearts out for months :) and it's really paid off.  The wedding and reception are going to have so many special touches.

I have to say a huge thanks to the super talented and creative Cindy VanKoll for designing these really darling signs for the wedding.   There is the first one.. I share the other one down further in the post.

Kate's mom was a wonderful hostess. She had food and drinks... and anything we needed really for us all day.    Kate's sister and sister in law.. hard at work at the table.
Kate's sister ordered kozies and had label printed with different fun sayings on them (EACH one different!) She must have really worked a while on that!

Kate's been working on her  outdoor reception table centerpieces. Shes been having people save her blue and green bottles for a while now :)  Jarad cut the slabs of log from out at the river, she used E600 to adhere the bottles to the wood. The candles will be added later. I think they will reflect off the colored bottles and be so pretty when it's dark at the dance/reception.

My sis and I worked an programs.  The two pieces ( front and back) were a adhered together with a handle to create a fan.

Here is the front

and the back

A while back I showed you the some of the frames I've been picking up at sales and painting.  They are what will hold the chalkboard signs and the signs Cindy created.

Like this one, that will hang on one of the trees with the flip flops ( dancing shoes) in a tub below.

Here is Kate's sister and sister in law .. hard at work.

Since it's a ways off the Highway.... Missy was busy making signs, we'll put out with balloons, to point the way.

All help was welcomed... big and small. lol

There should be plenty of food, because there will be a meal and pretty cakes..but just in case having a bon fire at the outdoor reception at the kids cabin makes anyone crave a S'more...............that's covered also.  Aren't these cute?    Square marshmallows, gram crackers and a Hersey bar all individually bagged up so cute.

Those girls were busy.

So... it's a beautiful spot for a wedding............... all we need it sunshine and we are set!
One week from today!

Thanks for letting me share!

and don't worry... it's not been all work and no play.  I found time to go see my favorite band last night. YAY!!!

Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers

Great Band.... awesome show... amazing friends..... FUN night

I hope you  all have your weekend off to a good start!

Thanks for stopping by!

"US" album

Hi friends!  Sorry I've been away awhile. My computer monitor went out and I had to get a new one :(   I've been busy with other things and trying to stay away from the computer a bit more so that certainly solved that problem, didn't it.. ha!  I'm taking a little time off to get some things done around here and enjoy the wedding prep.  I haven't really been working on any new projects because I've been painting signs, frames ect..  But....   a while back I ran across this album I started quite some time ago (okay.. probably 3 years ago lol). It was a kit I did for Scrappy Gourmet, so at the time I only needed to add a few photos. Well, I decided it was a shame I hadn't finished it. And with it being a album of photos of Jarad and Kate, I decided it was a good time to add photos and finish it up.  So..... there are quite a few pages... but you can see by looking at these photos, just how long Jarad and Kate have been friends... ( even before they started dating)  They met the Summer we moved here... so that's 13 years ago now.

below- Jarads graduation- Jarad graduated a year after Kate
I remember this being the first time I saw them holding hands. Dan and I looked at eachother like??? what??    I guess they are more than "friends" now. lol

I'll let Kate add the journaling

"2000" ( below left photo)

                                                                            "2012" (photo above)

( below - top left photo........... oh.... they are soooo young!)

There it is ..
all  summed up in random photos :)

Okay, I have a couple of other things I wanted to share with you.
First of all, If you haven't heard about the AccuCut GrandeMARK Challenge  you can find out all about it HERE   You have until May 31st

Be sure to pop over to the Heartwarming Vintage Blog and check out all the new  Printable dolls!   Here is just one set ...but you can see them all HERE.

And I have to share one photo from today.  Earlier this afternoon Wes (oldest son) packed up his car to head to Grand Island for 4 months of training at the Police Academe.  It's only about two hours from here and he will be able to come back on weekends..but the dog ( and us of course) are really going to miss having him around. He hasn't lived at home for years, not even in this town, but a few months ago when he got hired on at the police dept here, he started  staying between our house and Jarad and Kates.  Knowing he would be gone for four months, there was no sense in him finding a place and signing a lease/paying rent , until he gets this behind him.  Well, lets just say, .... he is more of a dog person than I am.... and that is pretty severe! lol  The dogs LOVE him!
So in this photo he's putting the last load in his car to leave.
Look in the front drivers seat. lol  I think he has extra baggage he hasn't noticed yet :)

I hope you all have a fantastic week ahead!
Thanks for stopping by.  I always love hearing from you.
