Memory garland

Hey friends!    I hope your weekend was good, and your all refreshed and ready for a new week. The weather here has been so nice.  Much cooler than the previous weeks so it's been great to be outside enjoying it.
I still have a couple of projects left to share with you that I did for Fancy Pants for CHA. This garland is one of them. It's made by using the Patterned Photo frames from the new "Collecting Moments" line.

I took individual photos, so you'd be able to see them better.  This is for me to hang in my studio, so It's all photos of me when I was a little one with some of my favorite people :)
In the one below I can only see my sister Jan's hand holding me up ( on the left) lol

My dad holding me back from getting to close to the edge when we were on vacation in the Badlands.
My cousin Craig and I, holding baby kittens at Grandma and Grandpas farm in SD.

Sweet momma and I
4 generations

I used Flair, buttons and other things from the "Collecting Memories" line on this garland also. All the matching goodies are so fun!

We spend time at the cabin again this weekend , so that's were my "Everyday photos" are from this week.

Everyday photo #1

This photo is important to me for a number of reasons.  One .. simply because it's just what it looks like when we get out of our car in front of the cabin. lol   One way is the field and the then the bluff and the other way, behind the cabin and the cabin lot, is the river.  It documents what car I was driving in 2013 ( and how dusty is was) lol    Another thing that is always interesting to note from year to year... is when is a "corn" year, and when is a "bean" year , in the field in front of the cabin, because it alternates. Something I didn't know before having the cabin or living in the country. Also always interesting to see how well the corn has done by how tall it is, depending on how the weather has been.  I look back over the years at photos of the cabin and notice all those things.

Everyday Photo #2
As I walked thru the cabin I had to smile.  I love seeing Wes's guitar sitting there, because I know how he loves coming to the cabin all by himself on the weekend after a long week away, to relax and play this guitar.  I'm so glad with all he has going on, he's learned taking time for things like this are really important.

Everyday Photo #3
This photo is Daisy Dog chill'n in the living room at the cabin.  But most of all it's me trying out the new camera lens I splurged on this weekend:)

Well, that photo of Daisy was when she was being good. Later in the day, she decided to chase a rabbit into that TALL corn I showed you in the first picture and had us all worried and calling for her.  Whew, about the time I was really getting worried, here she came.
I hope you had a nice weekend.   Tomorrow is going to greet me with laundry, and all the other not so fun stuff..... but still, it's a new day :)    Bring it Monday!
Hugs, Vic

Fancy Pants Designs "Happy Go Lucky" Collection Altered Shadowbox

All my projects have been packed up and sent off to CHA for a few days now, but I still have a few Fancy Pants Designs Projects to share with you.  One of them is this shadowbox I created using  one of the new lines.....

I love the colors patterns and all the elements that go with this line.  You can see them all by clicking on the link below :)    SO much more than just paper, I couldn't begin to show it all to you here in one post.
Happy Go Lucky Collection from Fancy Pants Designs

I used one of the Title pieces for my center, and added Diamond glaze over the flower jars for dimension.  I wish you could see in IRL, I love how it looks!

The little chipboard bow is part of the coordinating button set and the there is a matching set of mini clothes pins also. TOO CUTE!

I always love lifting my background piece up by using
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  Crafty Foam Tape

Like I said, there are all kind of fun coordinating pieces for each line. Flair, large and small tags, button sets, clothes pins, Patterned photo frames, resin flowers, patterned envelopes, decorative bags, ephemera packs, Title pieces , ticket rolls, ect ect.

They have been sharing awesome DT projects on the Miss Fancy Pants blog using all the new lines.. and I'm sure now.... they will be sharing lots of fun photos from CHA also, so pop on over, and check it out.

SO... have you been giving any more thought to Everyday photos? :)
Here are some things from my past few days.

Everyday photo #1
Boy my Black Cherry tomato plant is getting HUGE!  It has a lot of blooms and a lot of little green tomatoes on it so... fingers crossed.   My sis and brother-in-law, grew these last year and shared with us.. and they were so yummy!  I had to grow a couple myself this year. ( so they didn't feel obligated to keep giving me theirs. lol)

Everyday Photo #2
The beautiful sky while Daisy and I were on our walk last night.

Everyday Photo #3
I used my Zucchini and yellow squash in my lasagna tonight for dinner, and it was deeeee lish!

Everyday Photo #4
My sweetie face Molly begging for food.... as always :)

Everyday Photo #5
Miss Daisy loving her new baby. She chews up all her other stuffed animals but there seems to be something different about this one :)  she tosses it , nibbles it ... and licks it.. but nothing too rough.  I think she likes it.

I hope your week is off to a great start.
I love it when you stop by... Thank you!

"Laugh" new Fancy Pants Designs framed layout

Well, CHA is quickly approaching, and everyone is showing off the new releases.  Fancy Pants has some amazing how collections AND awesome new products being released. They have been showing them off on the Miss Fancy Pants Blog all week, so be sure to pop over and check them out.   The line I used on the framed layout below is called "Collecting Moments"

The little doll in the photo is Kates niece Violet.

Everyday Photos

( not giving up on my mission about the importance of everyday photos)

1.   Being a migraine sufferer all my life ... THIS is a big part of my life. Not how I wanted my weed to start out ..but how it did.  Two full days :(

2.  Tree frogs on the window at night .. just a part of life in the county. And I'm totally okay with it.
3. So Thankful for the good friends in my life!  A good chat = best therapy :)

4. I Actually did some baking this week.  I used to bake often but not much these days.  Dan doesn't eat sweets, so unless I'm having company or taking it somewhere, I don't want it around to temp ME.  This is actually not as loaded with calories as it looks.  Choc Zucchini cake with frozen yogurt.  Desert for Julie and I.

5. Speaking of Julie, can you believe she sent home dinner for us.  Homemade lasagna, garlic cheese bread and salad.  What a treat!  Love that girl!

If you are sharing "Everyday Life" things on our blog... be sure to share with me so I can see :)

Also I wanted to  tell you, I have been using "Groove Book"  ( an app) to get prints of  my phone photos,  " my everyday photos" , and I'm loving them.   I'll share some photos of my books soon.  Kind of cool.

I hope your week has been a good one.

Thanks for taking time to stop by!

Altered tin with the New Fancy Pants Design "Merry Little Christmas" Collection

Christmas in July? Really I'm not so much into that,...but... I have to share with you a couple of projects using the new Christmas line being released at CHA by Fancy Pants next week.  It's called " Merry Little Christmas" and it's an adorable collection.  You can see it all on the Miss Fancy Pants Blog.

I wanted to create some sort of small little shadowbox sort of thing to show off one of the new "mini Christmas trees" from Fancy Pants Designs, so I decided to alter this little sampler tin.  You can see the trees HERE, they come in traditional colors and retro :)

Below is a 12x12 layout I did with the same collection.

LOVE having all the matching goodies.

and the new "Wood Phrases"

Keep your eye on the Miss Fancy Pants blog for a look at all the new lines!

What's been going on around here this week??? Well, we had our favorite Summertime meal, the other night! yum!

My friend Deb and I went picking fresh product at Andrew farm up the road this morning, and then had a nice lunch at the corner cafĂ©.

lots of fresh veggies and eggs.

It's been pretty warm the past few days, but hey, I'm not complaining.  Sure beats winter!

Now... wondering if I dare to look at Pinterest for some new yummy recipes to try out with all my fresh veggies.  Oh Pinterest... you are so dangerous! lol

Hope your week is going well!

I always love it when you stop by :)

July Whatevers TWO

How exciting... here we are, kicking off our first month of "Whatevers TWO".  The three of us, are now the five of us!  Nat, Cat and I are thrilled to have Martha and Carmen joining us this year. We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us!  If your not familiar with how "Whatevers" works, you can read about all the details further down in this post.  But basically what it is, is that we pick one photo each month (that we also provide to you, if you'd like to play along), of people who are in need of a story. I long lost photo. One of those you might find at a flea market, or vintage shop. The kind that always makes you wonder.. where do these people belong? You know they belonged to someone. We'll we give them a new story and now journey ... a new adventure!   We each create a page and story just for them.   As you can image, it's a creative journey that takes many different paths :)
Here is my page using the photo of this months photo.  Oh... I love these little darlings.   Although they do not look very happy to be dressed up, and sitting for the photo. lol        The stamp set I used is from Crafty Secrets and it's called "Photo Studio"

Andrew and Ansley sit quietly on the big steps at Aunt Pearl and Uncle David's house, although their new clothes mother had bought them were quite uncomfortable. The man with the big camera promised them it wouldn't take much longer.  This trip to the city to visit their Aunt and Uncle had been very exciting for them.  Andrew thought riding on the train was the most fun. Ansley was inseparable from the new doll Aunt Pearl had given her while she was there.  She was sad to even have to be without it for the photo.  But they knew .... even with out their mother saying... that this photo was every important to her, So they sat very still, and waited patiently  for the flash of the camera.

Here is this months photo for your personal use if you would like to play along.

Check out what the others are up to this month

Catherine Scanlon
Nathalie Kalbach
Martha Richardson
Carmen Sanchez

Here is how it works
  • Nat, Cat, Cuchy (Carmen), Martha and I and I have made a one-year commitment to each other and picked twelve photos with Whatevers whom we will give a story.
  • Every month – if possible always on the 15th –  each of us will do a post with an individual story that goes along for us with the same photo.
  • If you want you can play along and we will have the photo for you to download and show us your version of The Whatevers. The photo will be posted at the end of our blogposts- not on Facebook!
  • There is no rules to the story itself- it can be funny, sad, uplifting, breathtaking- WHATEVER
  • There is no rules on the length or the form of the story- it can be a short sentence, an essay, a poem or a soap opera – WHATEVER
  • There is no rules on the artform you choose – it can be a scrapbook layout, an altered art project, an art journal page – WHATEVER
  • Here is a rule though: if you take the photo you have to link back to us and show us your story.
  • These pictures are from our personal stash and are for personal use for you only! If you want to use them for a publication whether a book or magazine in print or digital form please ask for permission!
  • If you want to participate we’ll have a linky list for each Whatever Post.

"live right now" 12x12 canvas ( Fancy Pants Designs "Happy- Go -Lucky" line

Ready for new CHA goodies??
Well, I have to say... about they time I think Fancy Pants  has come out with their best lines.. they out do themselves again.   If you haven't seen the newest releases from Fancy Pants....  Be sure to check out the Miss Fancy Pants blog showing all the new releases for CHA.    I used the new "Happy Go Lucky" line for this 12x12 canvas I created.  You can see the entire line with all the coordinating embellishments here on the Miss Fancy Pants blog.  Happy-Go-Lucky Collection

And check out these new "Wood Phrases"
You can leave them natural, mist them, paint them... whatever :)

Did me some serious stitching... had a blast.
This canvas seems so fitting right now :)

What have I been doing?  Well, today I started working on some CHA projects because supplies arrived on my doorstep yesterday..... but before that,

I've been enjoying working in my flowers a bit.  Being outside with the pups, and Dan and I have both been working in the yard a lot.  Kind of nice to be home enough these days to do that. I enjoy it.

I even have a few "eats" growing on the deck.  Tomatoes, peppers, and come herbs.

Since the flea market, we did some major work on reorganizing the garage stuff again and thinning things out. AND.... look, I even cleaned my hall crafty supply closet.  Major purging!  and organizing... again!  Feels good to have those things done!  Now that I'm not traveling teaching as much, it was just time to go thru that stuff.

Last night Wes was here.   The three of us grilled , chatted and watched a movie.  A nice evening. It was nice to get to have some time to catch up with him and hear about what his week's are like at police academe. He's half way through now.  It's difficult but very rewarding.  I can tell he is feeling good about things, and that makes a mom happy.

I'm off to play with my other fun new Fancy Pants papers now, but I'll be back to share more soon.  Also remember that Monday is our first "Whatevers" with the FIVE of us!
Excited for that to begin!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends, and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs to you!
