Halloween Crafty get together

Friday we spent a fun day in Lincoln at my sister Jan's for a little fun get together, before we went to my nephew Nathaniel's bands show that night.   My sis always makes everything so fun and festive, I wanted to share the photos with you.   First I thought I'd show you the little treat cups I made with some paper cups I picked up at Walmart the other day and paper and images from the Crafty Secrets "Creating with Vintage Halloween CD"  The bows are made from my AccuCut die VC106, that you can see here.  The images are hot glued to coffee stirrers that I misted with orange Glimmer Mist.

My sis, always has her house decorated so fun for the Holidays.  It's so beautiful!

And she is the BEST hostess!

So many personal touches to make you feel special.

and food... oh my!   It was all amazing!

I always tell her... "I thought we were keeping it simple?"  lol  I realize .. she doesn't do simple. lol
Hardly any calories in anything.  ha!
Above was "Margarita Pie"

We had a great time crafting.  We made a number of projects.  I still need to photograph mine finished. ( I always do too much talking... imagine that!)

My sister had these witches hats spinning around on her ceiling fan. It was SO cute!

She thinks of everything.  Special little gifts also.
Julie, finishing up one of her projects.

It was so fun to have Diana be able to join us this time.

We got some crafting done before the craziness started.  Oh man, I laughed so hard.  Some of the photos I snapped were hilarious.  I was laughing all over again last night when I uploaded them and looked through them.  Oh man... some funny facial expressions.

I wish I could remember what was going on here,...but it looks to me like Julie has just come up with one of her amazing ideas! lol

This has to be at the top of my list of faves. What a bunch of nuts.  I love these three!

If you're interested, here is a link to another Halloween gathering at my sisters a couple of years ago  HERE

And here is one I hosted here at my house with some Halloween Craft, and Party ideas  ideas HERE

It seems like it wasn't that many years ago that I did this little album using Crafty Secrets Halloween stickers and Halloween Cuts, using photos of this darling little boy. My nephew Nathaniel.

Well..... the years have just gone by sooooo fast, because here he is at his bands show Friday night.  We are so proud of you Nathaniel! We love you!

Thanks for stopping by, friend... and as always for letting me share!

Halloween and Fall Banners

I have a couple more new banners to share and then I'll give you a break from them and share some other projects.  Again I used the Crafty Secrets "Creating with Vintage Halloween CD" and AccuCut die Pennant Flags P1317
You can click on it to see it much larger.

Although I've always been drawn to this orange and black diamond paper, there are lots of awesome papers on the CD... along with all the other frames, tags, titles, images, ect..

For both these banners, I just used frames I found on the CD's.. and in Photoshop, centered my letters in the frames.  It was so easy, because I'd just keep my font set at the same size, do one letter, drag it over to the blank sheet I was planning to print, go back, take away that letter by "stepping back"  and do the next letter.  Repeating until I had the word I needed. Once I had that done, I could save it and print as many as I wanted, any time I wanted, if I wanted to make more.

There are plenty of papers on the CD that work great for Fall, not just specifically Halloween also.  I decided to make the banner below so it could be left up the entire Fall Season.

Again.... same idea using a different frame that is one the CD.

If you want to see more of what's on the CD you can here.

With all the other photos I have had to share, I haven't shared about my "Everyday" photos for a while.   I truly believe these are the really important ones, so I'm not giving up on this.  Carry on... Everyday photos... carry on....  lol

Everyday Photo #1

The view pulling out of my drive, onto the road in front of the house early in the morning.
( This is done with Rhonna Designs App on my I phone. If you don't have it, check it out.. it's pretty cool)

Everyday Photo #2

My Molly Dog, so lazy that she had to laydown on the step to wait for me

Everyday Photo #3
Okay friends..... off to get some things done. It's Dans day off and he's cleaning the garage.  I think I'll steer clear. I don't want to get caught up in having to help with that. lol.     I hope your day is a good one!

Kansas City Flea Market, Farmers Market and Art Fair

I don't normally do a non-project post but I had so many photos from the Art Fair in KC  I wanted to share.. that I'm doing them in two separate posts.  I'll do my project post later today or tomorrow :)      For now.. I think you find plenty of beautiful colors and designs to inspire you in these photos. And I'll share some pieces .. that if I had to pick, I would have to say would be my favorites from the show.
My weekend in KC was spent with these two lovely's, Julie and Alexandra.  Alexandra lives near KC. Julie and I (Oh... and Ellie).drove there to meet up with her.  I'll share a photo of Ellie at the bottom of this post. She is soooo sweet!

We could not have had a nicer weekend weather wise... it was perfect!  The next three photos are from the Farmers Market.  Oh... what I would do to have that available to me every weekend.  I brought home... Pears, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries,  grapes, peppers , nectarines, tomatoes, fresh cilantro, ect...

The flowers were amazing!

I'd love to have this to pick from for cooking anytime I wanted. ahhhh

We had lunch at this fun little vintage style diner called Happy Gillis, that had been featured on "Diners Drive Ins and Dives".   The food was delish.

Since the weather was so nice we ate outside ,but here is a peek at part of the inside.

I have so many photos of the art show, I couldn't begin to share them all, or begin to show how huge it was... it went on for blocks on and blocks.

And lets just say.... Lots of great food vendors, and Lots of people!  We were so impressed with how many great free Art projects and activities there were for kids! So great to see!

Julie and I in our shirts.  ha... matchy matchy

We saw so many beautiful pieces of art and interesting things...but I was so drawn to this artists work.   His name is Heinrich Toh.

I loved his work.  Here is his website if you'd like to check it out.  HEINRICH TOH

Night time on the Plaza Saturday night was even more amazing. Lights, music...  and what seemed like, even more people.  We went out for traditional KC barbecue and it was so goooood!

Who wouldn't want a French Macaroon for dessert?   I had Raspberry and Julie had Passion Fruit, at this darling place called Natasha's Mulbery & Mott

Here is a little peek at the inside.  Oh.... swoon!

Sunday morning we took in more of the sights.

On our way to the City wide Flea Market/Garage Sale... and back to the Farmers Market.
I was such a nice weekend, we hated to see it end, but trust me we made the most of every minute we were there, and enjoyed it all.

Now... for the photo of my lap buddy in the car during the trip.  Julies baby, .... Sweet Ellie. Here she is on the way home almost asleep with her head in my hand. ( oh.. laying on her blankey of course) I love this dog!

Huge Thanks to Julie for letting me be your side kick for the weekend... it was so fun!

ps   I'll be back to share a project in a separate post :)

Halloween Banner with Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage Vintage images and stamps

I don't think I could probably ever get tired of making banners. They are one of my very favorite things to make.  Probably a very good thing, because I've been making a lot of them these days.  I'm working on some things for an upcoming Flea Market/ Craft Show coming up the first weekend in October.   I'll be sharing more about that very soon ;)
Anyway, here is one of the Halloween banners I make using the "Creating with Vintage Halloween CD" and Halloween stamps.       You can see the Halloween stamps that are available now here
The Pennant die you see me using for my banners is AccuCut die   Pennant Flags

There are so many fun papers on the Halloween CD.

Brace yourself... more banners to come. lol

Although I love Fall, it's always hard for me to say goodbye to Summer :(     But this week, I finally did start bringing out a few bits of Fall d├ęcor.

I am happy now with this new furniture I can use my soft table the way I've always really wanted to, between the two rooms.

And..... I baked my first batch of pumpkin muffins of the Season. (certainly not the last) we love these.   I've been making these for years. Since the boys were babies. I share this recipe here on my blog every Fall, so ... as not to break tradition...  here it is once again.  SO easy and freeze great!!

Pumpkin muffins/bread
3 cups sugar (I used less)
1 cup oil
4 eggs
2 (15oz cans) pumpkin
2/3 cup water
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinn
1 tsp nutmeg
3 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
Combine all ingredients and mix with electric mixer. Pour into muffin tins or loaf pans sprayed with non stick spray. Makes 3 large loaves or 2-3 dozen muffins. ( depending on how big you make them)
Bake at 350
Bake loaves approx 60 minutes and muffins approx 30 minute
**( this is an old recipe.. and originally said to bake in 3, 1lb coffee cans ;)

Last night I had issues sleeping, so I got up for a bit.  I looked out the window to see this.  What a gorgeous night.  I wanted to share.    Autumn is in the air.

Thanks as always for stopping by!
