Tag Boxes from AccuCut using Fancy Pants Designs

This week I've been making some fun little tag boxes with this AccuCut die  ( Tag- Box  BX220 )
I made a couple of different sets.  One in a Valentine theme and one with a general Winter theme.  As I was making them I was thinking how many things these would come in so handy for. Birthdays, Showers, Weddings ,Halloween, Valentines, May Day, any class or group gifts .. all kinds of things. They'd make great little thank you's. They go together quickly, so you could make large numbers of them in a fairy short amount of time, if you wanted to make them for an event.

The Valentine set above was made with Fancy Pants Be Loved Collection
and it filled with Hersey kisses :)

The "Winter" themed set above was made with the Fancy Pants Timber Grove Collection
I filled little bags with malted milk balls to put in these.

I have a feeling I'm going to wear this die out :)

It was a pretty quiet week around here so I was super excited when Jarad ( our youngest) called and invited me to lunch and a movie on his day off.  YIPPEE!  What mom  doesn't love the sound of that!?!
I didn't want him to have to back track this direction, so I said I'd just drive to their house in Fremont and then he was going to drive us the rest of the way to Omaha in his truck. As you can see from the photos below ..that didn't go as planned.  I didn't make it out of the driveway before I was stuck. My car sits really low, and the road grader piles up the snow there when he plows. Not to mention there's ice underneath.  I called Jarad, and he came with his jeep with the blade on it.  Plowed the entire drive for us and then pulled me out :)  YAY

I followed him back to their house, we jumped in his truck and still managed to have lunch and take in the later show that afternoon.   It was a great day after all.
One on one time with your adult kids.... PRICELESS!

I hope your week was a good one and that your ready to jump head first into another one!
Thank you for taking time to stop by.

Fancy Pants Designs card trio using "Happy Place" collection and girls craft day

I was waiting until after our second craft day today to share photos of our get together and projects, but we were snowed out :(     It was snowy and slick out this morning so we decided we would wait for better weather another day.     As much as we look forward to our get togethers , it's not worth taking chances on bad roads. January in Nebraska is always unpredictable.    I decided I just go ahead with a blog post .. share a few new cards and then photo of the craft day last week.

These cards were created with the  "Happy Place" Collection from Fancy Pants.

I cant get enough of this collection. I will be using every last little scrap :)

Beautiful bright colors with the black and white contrast, is just so eye catching.

I'm so excited to see the new collections Fancy Pants is about to release.  I have to tell you , I've been creating with FP products since the very beginning ( I've been on the Design Team for over 11 years) and never once have I tired of their designs.  I don't know how they do it, but it's new and fresh every since time. I know I've said it before, but about the time I say, "this is my favorite collection", they come out with another I seem to love even more.

The photos below are from our craft day last week.  We were so happy that Amy ( Wes's girlfriend) was able to join us.   Amy and Julies work schedules seem to be just opposite each other, so that's why we chose to get together on two different days... so that we could craft with each of them.

Break out the canvases and paints!

Amy used the Hazel and Ruby stencils to create a canvas with her favorite activities.    She's a crafting natural!

It turned out so awesome!

Karen and I worked on  masking off and painting these herringbone canvases like I shared here on my blog a while back.

This is the one I created and shared  a while back.
Karen worked on one for her Grandaughers room. I LOVE the bright colors.  She had picked out all the paint colors ahead to match her room.

Jan worked on cutting out felt flowers for making a pillow like the one I had shared a week or so ago.
It's a AccuCut Flower die that we used.  You can see the entire post where I talked about making the pillow HERE

As always, it was a super fun day.  I am so lucky to have such great friend... who love to craft like I do.   It was a bummer that we couldn't meet up today , but we will reschedule.   Here's the other problem.... I have a dozen of these yummies sitting here now. YIKES!   Better get some in the freezer quick. That is too much of a temptation.  I had ordered these from the Corner Cafe here in town.  I picked them up at 7am this morning and they were still warm.     I cant begin to explain the delishishness of these!   ( yes... I say delishishness is a word) lol.

Oh... sometimes small town life is so good

Thanks friends... for stopping by and letting me share.
Hugs all around.

Altered Embroidery Hoops January Guest Designer for Cocoa Daisy

Hi everyone!
Well, I still have a number of projects I did this month for Cocoa Daisy to share. This is one if them. I'd never done altered embroidery hoops before, and had been tempted every time I saw the different creative ways they could be done. I loved the January Kit and decided I'd love doing something with these to hang in my creative space.  It was really a lot of fun.
I totally enjoyed being Guest Designer for Cocoa Daisy this month. If you'd like to read my interview with Emily Pitts , you can HERE

I know that this months kit is already sold out, but Cocoa Daisy has all kinds of fun creative things in their online store.  You can take a look HERE

Butteries and arrows..... ahhhhh..... then toss in flowers and feathers?? I'm a happy girl!

I was loving every minute of this kit :)

It's been a busy week.  I have photos and projects to share from our girls craft day from Friday, but we are getting together again with the girls (and Julie) on Tuesday, so I thought I'd share all the photos from other days together.   Julie couldn't make it Friday , when it worked for Amy, ( Wes's girlfriend) to join us, and Amy had to work on the day Julie could come, soooo.... problem solved... we craft TWO times :)

So.... another blog post coming soon!

Until then, I'm staying in and trying to keep warm.  Last nights low was   -9   Brrrrrrrrrr

Hugs all around, Vicki

Felt Flower Pillow using Accucut die F1029CLC

Hey friends!
I'm hoping you had a wonderful weekend.  I stayed inside a big share of the weekend. It was SO cold out, and it was also Dan's work weekend, so I figured it was a good time to do a little crafting.  I was excited to try out the two newest AccuCut dies I had ordered. They came last week, and have  been sitting here on my work table calling my name.   The first one is this gorgeous 3-Flower F1029CLC
I cut a few with paper first but then the endless possibilities just kept running thru my head until I just got up and  grabbed my bin of felt :)
I remembered I had this pillow slip cover, I had picked up a while back at Hobby Lobby when they were on sale, ( hoping to alter it).    There are certainly two ways  to do this project, depending on if you like to sew or not, and if you want to take the time, or if your okay with the glue gun version.   This is the glue gun version. Simply because sometimes I just need instant "crafting gratification" lol    I'm totally looking forward to making up some more of these felt flowers and blanket stitching around the edges tho.   I LOVE to blanket stitch! I think it's so relaxing.

For this no-sew version, the flower layers are just hot glued on top of each other, and onto the pillow, with a vintage button hot glued in the center.
Just another reason I love AccuCut dies. They cut fabric like butter.
If you don't own an AccuCut machine yourself, be sure to share this project with your local Scrapbook store that may have a machine for customer use. They may be interested in ordering this die for their store.  It's fantastic!

I'll be sharing a project at the end of the week  where I've used these flowers again, cut out of paper.  But here's a peek so you can see how they look when the creases allow the paper to really be dimensional.

I was thinking of cutting some to add to my etsy shop if there is any interest. Both in paper and in felt.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share. I still have another new die sitting here and I'm anxious to play with.  Why do things like cooking and laundry keep taking up my time. lol    Oh trust me, where there's a will there's a way :)

"I love you more" card using Cocoa Daisy January kit

Hey!  Just a quick post to share a card I created with the Coco Daisy January Kit.  Yes, it's true, this kit is already sold out :( , but You can see all kinds of other Cocoa Daisy goodies here.

I just took a look at the February kit and it looks amazing also.

I've been working on my mission to organize a bit each day. Either a drawer, closet shelf,  or something each day.  Some days are harder to get motivated than others. As you can see from the photo below.....   today is GLOOMY and it's taking a little more motivation to get me going.  THIS weather just makes me want to curl up on the couch. ick!!
Some days are good for big projects and others for much smaller undertakings. Today, I'm scratching plan A and going with plan B.   Instead of going thru a bunch of bins in the garage like I had planned, I will go thru things and organize under the kitchen sink.   Sticking with my plan of  "organizing something every day", just not my original plan.
Hoping for a little sunshine and some more inspiration tomorrow :)

I do love me some organizing containers!

Cocoa Daisy Guest Disgner for January

I know, it's crazy I just did a blog post yesterday and here I am again. lol But I have lots of projects to share with you this month. I was so excited and honored to be asked to be Cocoa Daisy's Guest Designer this month, Yippee!

If you would like to read my interview with the delightful Emily Pitts.. You can find it HERE

So that mean I had a beautiful kit to work with. To give you an idea just how beautiful .... it's already sold out. Wha?? I know!   But Cocoa Daisy has lots of awesome kits and scrapbook supplies available HERE in their online store.
I'll be sharing a number of projects, but for today I'll share a 8 1/2 x 11 layout I did with a photo of my great niece Lyndsay.  Is she the cutest or what?

I loved these little arrow stamps so much!  When I started this layout my main plan was to use the "Selfie" word for my title...but with the clear background on it, it just seemed to get lost on the page.  I decided to flip it over and paint the back of it white with acrylic paint.  It just just what I had hoped it would . Problem  solved :)

Lots of fun accent pieces to play with.

Huge thanks to Cocoa Daisy for having me this month. Emily Pitts was a joy to work with and get to know better. The kit was amazing!   More sharing to come.

Thanks for coming by!

"You and Me" layout using Adornit

I know, I know, it's hard getting back in the routine after the Holiday isn't it?  You could almost sense a unanimous groan this morning. lol  It will get better, I promise.  We didn't even do anything exciting over the weekend or on New Years, but it was nice to just do things in our own time.
Thought I'd share a layout  I did using Adornit's  You & Me Collection
Love this color combo! I'm a huge fan of Adornit. Carolee and her family are not only wildly talented but just as nice as they can be!
I love this adorable photo of Wes and his girl Amy too :)

I woke up this morning to a beautiful view outside. The trees were all covered in frost. If it wasn't so cold out, I would have grabbed my camera and headed out on a adventure.. but...... instead I took this shot with my phone from the dining room window.

If that wasn't enough to start my morning off on a good note.... the UPS man delivered the Hazel & Ruby Stencils that I ordered ( to add to the once I already have "wink")  I've had a number of people email me able what stencils I use for my canvas projects.  These are the ones I think work best .. hands down.  The reason I'm mentioning it again is they are still 75% off .  What?  I know right?   I always like to share when I find something that works great.

So.... more about our exciting weekend. For the most part it consisted of things like, Netfix, pajama pants, pizza, ect...  But then they second half of the days off, I  coaxed the Dan to Menards to look at bathroom sinks again.  Gentle nudging on my part :) and the ball got rolling.   Once he gets going.. he's on a mission. Then I just stand back and he goes to town. lol
We have this little bathroom near the mud room that has need a new sink for some time. Finally!
And he also replaced the bathroom faucets in the bath upstairs with nice new pretty ones. YAY!
Doesn't take much to make me happy.. really :)
It always feels so good just to get a couple of projects out of the way.

I also worked on tidying up and reorganizing my studio some yesterday. ( the closet)  I have everything labeled, it's just that sometimes I get in a bit of a hurry and things don't get put back just as it should.  I got things straightened up, tossed a few things, and did some rearranging.    I have a lot of stuff ( because I save everything), in a space that isn't all that big, so keeping things labeled and organized is important.... otherwise it's impossible to find anything!
I plan to keep working on it ...just once area at a time.  Actually that is my plan with the entire house.  Little by little.  A drawer or closet shelf a day.   We'll see .. but that's my plan.

Here's to a great start to your week!
Hope it's a good one!

Ringing in the new year! Hello "2016"

Happy New Year Everyone!
Just a quick post today to wish everyone the best in the the upcoming year.  I'm hoping 2016 is wonderful for all of us!    We rang in the new year with pup, pajama pants and Netflix. lol  Yes, we ARE that exciting.  Actually it felt good to just chill at home after the past week of Christmas festivities.
The altered frame below was made with Fancy Pants Designs "Wish Season" Collection.

I actually taped the numbers 7, 8, and 9 to the back of the frame, so I could chance it out for at least the next three years.
The day before yesterday Wyatt and Emmett were here for a while.  While they were here, this top photo came up in my Facebook memories from FIVE years ago.   I showed it to Wyatt and we laughed about it. He said, "well, I could still fit".  I told him I didn't think so.

He had to prove me wrong. lol      I dont know how he contorted his body to get in there, but he did. lol

And then of course Emmett had to give it a try.     These two entertain me endlessly :)

Here's to an amazing NEW YEAR!
