"I could Fall for you" Fall hanging using Tammy Tutterow stamps / Rhubarb Crisp recipe

Hey Everyone!  It's Five for Fridays with Tammy Tutterows Creative time and I have a little something "Fallish" to share.  I used this stamp on my project a couple of weeks ago when I made a little decorative box of candy, I loved it so much I couldn't quit. lol   Well, you know, it's only Fall for so long, so who knows, I'm sure you might see it here again :)
This time I made a little decorative hanging for my sis.
Again, simple coloring, but the stamp is so beautiful, it makes such a statement.

I could Fall for you  Stamp from Tammy Tutterow

As always, every other Friday is "Five for Fridays" with Tammy Tutterows Creative Team.  A day where everyone  shares a new project.   There are such a creative bunch of ladies, you will want to check out there projects here on Tammy's Blog.
You can also get the links there for their personal blogs.

It's feeling like Fall here this week, for the first time.  It feels great to have the air conditioning off and the windows open.  It's not always so good for my headaches, but I do love Fall.
My sis was here over and look what she brought.  Rhubarb Crisp.
Oh, anything Rhubarb reminds me so much of mom.  She baked with it often and also make Strawberry Rhubarb jelly.  Yum!
This Crisp was so delicious that I asked my sis if I could share the recipe here.
It's super easy and so Yummy!!!

Rhubarb Crisp

4 cups Rhubarb
1 sm box of Jello (strawberry)
1 Cake mix (White)
1 c Sugar
1 1/2 c Water
1 stick Butter

Place Rhubarb in 9x13 Pan. Mix dry jello and sugar together. Sprinkle over Rhubarb. Add water.
Sprinkle cake mix over above ingredients. Place butter (sliced) over cake mix.  Bake 350 for 35 min.

As we were talking about Rhubarb, my sis was saying this rhubarb she has is some that was from my grandmas original plant.  Why did that make it taste even better? lol    I have some that I've planted here, but I think I need to move it into more direct sun, as it hasn't done really well.
Another thing for next years "to do" list.

Update on my foot.

Because of the accident things we had planned for this Summer just got put on hold.
Speaking of that.  I didn't get the news I was hoping for at the appointment with my Orthopedic Surgeon last week.   I have still been having a lot of pain in my foot, and it's difficult to walk. I had it in my mind that it was probably just a bone spur and they would just give me a Cortisone shot and send me home.
Instead he said that the X-ray showed that the joint between the two bones was breaking down and becoming arthritic.
I have now been fitted for a brace that will  fit inside my shoe. The brace is being custom made and will be ready in another week or two.   That will be the first thing to try.  If I continue to have pain, the other option is another surgery. This would be to fuse the two bones together.  This would limit the mobility of my foot, but as he said, I don't have the much now the way it is.
I am in no hurry to have another surgery, that will lay be up for months again, so please pray the brace will help.
There are so many people with trouble WAY bigger than this, so I shouldn't complain.   I AM thankful that the accident wasn't worse and that no one else was hurt.
I just need to be patient.

Thank you to everyone for your messages, cards, and prayers!

Hugs all around!

I know you are going to be so surprised that I chose to create something with these cute dog stamps. lol ( or maybe you won't be that surprised) lol

 Squeeeeel!! aren't they adorable?!?!
Critters at the Dog Park stamps

And the matching dies make cutting them out a breeeeze!!

Critters at the Dog Park dies

Since I was going to be able to cut the images our with the dies, I decided to stamp directly onto this  adorable paper from Lawn Fawn

Perfectly Plaid rainbow petite paper pack

I knew right away that I wanted to create a treat jar. ( because my dogs are so well behaved , they deserve treats all the time. ...... yeah right lol)    Actually I wanted this cute jar with pups to sit on my counter.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive Sheets work wonders for things like this. Even on glass.  Using the sheet on the backside of your pre stamped paper and then using your dies to cut it out just works like a charm.  When you cut it out and peel off the backing, you have a piece with adhesive to the very edge, all the way around.  No lifting up. Even on glass. Even when it's on a round piece like this.

I just had to show you the pups all the way around the jar. There are so many cute ones!
I will be using this set a lot!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by! I always appreciate you visiting!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Stampendous Blog Hop

If you haven't been over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog this week, you might not know that there is a super fun blog hop going on with Stampendous.  I  hope you get a chance to check it out. Lots of great projects being shared by both teams.

Today I am sharing this card on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog, but I thought I'd share a little step by step of how I created the background, here on my blog.

I adore these cute Polar Bears from Stampendous.  Polar Bears Cling Stamps and Dies Set
I wanted to create a "wintery" looking card, but try a background with non traditional Christmas Colors.  I actually love how it turned out.   Below I'll show you how to create the easy background technique.

Here you can see the stamp/die set Polar Bears Cling Stamps and Dies Set
This is a super easy technique that always seems to produce a cool result.
Just apply some ink to your clear acrylic block by rubbing or dabbing the ink directly to it.

Give it a few of mists of water. ( you want it to be pretty saturated).

Flip it over onto watercolor paper, pressing down and then leaving it set about 3 minutes. ( this gives the water and ink a chance to absorb into the paper). ( If you want the colors to be lighter, you can pick it up sooner).

Of course, each time the result will be unique from the one before.  I love that!
I also like the raw edge :)

It's a super fun background, don't you thing?  I think my bears like it. :)

I also can never resist using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares to make the featured stamp pop off the page.

I hope you're inspired to give it a try!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fancy Pants Designs " New House" mini album

Hey Everyone!  Hoping your weekend was fantastic! It's been pretty low key around here since it's Dan's work weekend, but that's ok too.  I've been trying to go thru closets in the house and bins in the garage so this is a good time to catch up on things.  I've been working on trying to thin out and "have less" for some time now, but it seems there is still more to go thru lol  I actually really love the feeling of getting rid of things I know we aren't using.  I always ask the kids first if it's anything they can use, if not, it's off to the Good will, in hopes that someone else will make good use of them.  The only things I struggle with are things that belonged to family.  I'm sentimental about that stuff.  Luckily the kids are too. Lucky for me anyway. lol  Because I'm thrilled when they want it.  I'll  share more about that at the end of my post.

For now I wanted to share a new little mini album I created with the Fancy Pants Designs "Family & Company" Collections.    It's a super cute collection with great papers and fun bit of ephemera.  It mades creating a album like this fun and easy.   If you want to see how I  created it , here is my post on the Fancy Pants Designs blog.

I know Jared and Kate will be doing lots of remolding in their now home, so I thought it would be fun to make them an album with the "before" photos.

These kids have a great adventure ahead of them. It's fun to see them so excited about it. They love working on improvement projects together ( and work together well).  I know they have so many great plans for this old school house turned house.  It's just got so much character.
As I was going thru things here at our house there were a few things I asked them if they wanted.  Kate text back right away, saying they would love them.
One of the things was this old singer sewing machine that was given to me from my Aunt and Uncle many, many years ago.  I always had it displayed in the old house, but just never seemed to have a place for it here. So for 17 years it's been in the garage.  Kate found a great place for it here in the entry of their new place.  She texted me these photos after she got things in place.

This mirror was given to me by Dan's grandma.  Again, I love it , and it was one of those things I had up for a number of years but just wasn't using right now.
It makes me so happy that these things mean something to the kids and that they once again have a place to shine :)

Although I've been going thru things, cleaning and organizing, it's a slow process.  I still get tired so easy and my foot is still causing me pain and a lot of  swelling.  I get frustrated because I get worn out so easily.    I have been having a lot of pain in my heel, which I think could be my bone spur flaring up ,but I'm glad I have my appointment with my Orthopedic Surgeon tomorrow so I can hopefully find out more about whats going on.

THIS was defiantly a bright spot in my week.   I'm going to see Garth Brooks in October with MY BOYS!  I cant even tell you how excited I am.  We all have been Garth Brooks fans since the boys were little. ( Dan not as much).    So the boys and I are going.   I'm excited to see Garth live, but most of all excited for the time with my boys!

I saw this today and just had to share. It's so true.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope your week ahead is just fabulous!!!

"I could Fall for you" Five for Fridays Tammy Tutterow and Fancy Pants Designs

Helloooo!  Here we are "Five for Fridays" with Tammy Tutterow Designs.
I couldn't wait to use this fun new Fall stamp from TT.   I had a shallow wooden box that this fit well on.  I made it into a little gift box and put some fall candies in it.
I love this stamp and I adore those cute acorns!

I used the "with love" stamp as part of my "inside" design.   The papers, tags, little dear and puffy dots are all from Fancy Pants Designs. Golden Days Collection

These super creative ladies all have projects up HERE on Tammy's blog, and you can also see links to their blogs to check out more of their projects, as well as details on how they created them.

I could Fall for you Stamp
Fancy Pants Designs / Golden Days Collection

I had someone in mind when I made this Fall goodie box :)   Amy's mom was here in NE this week from CA.  Her dad couldn't come this time but we will see him when they are back for Christmas.
Amy is an only Child, and boy do they miss their girl now that she's in NE.  SO..... they have purchased land and will be building a new home and moving here permanently.  We are looking forward to having them here.

We wanted to have Leneece out to visit while she was here.  I don't know how it was that they stars aliened and all the kids were free that night, but I'm thankful!  (getting everyone's schedules to work together these day is tough).
I haven't been cooking as much since the accident because It's still hard for me to stand for long periods of time.  I keep a  stool in the kitchen that I can pull over to the sink or stove:)      I wanted to cook but knew I had to keep it simple, Or I'm worn out before company arrives..
I wanted to have one last "Summer Feel" meal.   Sloppy joes, potato salad, baked beans and mostaccioli salad.  I don't want to say goodbye to Summer.  I feel like I haven't had one :(

I made double batches of everything of course.. so I could send leftovers home with the kids. (  Oh, how I used to love when mom did that for us when we were first married).   My kids are not picky eaters, I'm thankful for that. They are all eager to take some leftovers when we have them.  Does this momma heart good to know they leave with a full belly ( at will have lunch for the next day or two :)

Anyway it sure was nice to have everyone all together!

I hope your week has gone well.  Countdown to the weekend is on!

Hugs, Vicki

Baby Card using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3 L and Savoring Summer!

Hello friends!
Just me here, trying to savor every little bit left of Summer.  My accident happened in May so I feel like a missed most of Summer.  I didn't get to have all my flowers like I usually do, and I really missed that.  Since I've been able to get around more the last month, I have been really enjoying being outside.  I'll share a few photos below, but first I want to share with you this card I recently had up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog.
This card is a shaker card I created using a disguarded  piece of packaging.
If you'd like to see how to create one yourself, you can see all the steps here on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog.

The weather has just been so nice here.  I feel almost guilty when I think of the weather tragedies going on right now in Texas, Florida ect...
Boy have I been keeping them all in my prayers.
As I came home the other day I couldn't help but notice that the ditches were just full of sunflowers. That gorgeous yellow with the beautiful blue sky background was amazing.
I have to say, it's been 17 years since we moved out of town to the country, and I still enjoy it more than I could have even imagined.

My one and only plant on the deck this year.  Huge thanks to my sis for bringing it when I was still totally housebound.  I could always look outside and see it.   Having plants in the Summer is one of my very favorite things about Summer, so not being able to get out there to plant this Summer was depressing. This hibiscus  cheered me up many days!

I couldn't miss this little dude hanging out in the yard the other day.  Praying Mantis are such interesting looking insects aren't they??  I was obviously pretty close to this guy, and I was totally intruded with how he'd turn his head to look at me.  ( I was just thinking ... "Please don't jump, please don't jump".   As long as he was slow moving, he and I were cool.

Just in case you are interested. Here is 10 Fascinating Facts about Praying Mantis

This week these amazing friends got together.  I cant begin to tell you how blessed I feel to have these four ladies for friends.
We have all had a lot on our plates this pass year.  Some really great things like, Marriages and babies, but some not so fun stuff also. No matter what, we stick together. Group texts messages of love and support get us thru until we can be together next.  This week, since we have all had so much going on this Summer, we decided to get together, order pizza and just chat!   No craft project, no gifts, , no shopping trip... just visit.  It was perfect!
After being with these ladies I always leave with a full heart.

This pretty much sums it up

Wes's girl Amy's mom is at their place visiting this week from CA.  We plan to have them out here for Supper tomorrow night.  We are looking forward to that.   I have much of the food already made, just need to finished up a few things around the house.  But for now... bedtime.

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs all around!

"Choose Joy" Card using Tammy Tutterow Designs / Five for Fridays

Hello Everyone!  Here we are at Friday again.  You know that means "Five for Fridays" with the Creative Team for Tammy Tutterow Designs.  I always look so forward to this, because I truly look so forward to seeing the things these talented ladies create.

There is a card I created using Tammy's "Choose Joy" stamp.  The leaves are one of Tammy's die designs with Spellbinders and round scalloped die is a Spellbinders.
It's been a while since I've created a square card.  I love creating large square cards like this to add to a gift basket or to add to a gift bag ( without an envelope).
I used Tombow markers for the majority of the coloring and a Copic Cool Gray #3 for the shadowing.
The papers are from Fancy Pants Designs.
