ADORNit art play card trio

Hey friends!
Wow, believe it or not, last night I actually sat down and played with paper! It was so nice, no pressure, no deadlines or rules... but just because I wanted to :)
For a while there I was wondering if was ever going to get the bug again to want to go up to my room and dig into paper.  I guess it's best to just go with the flow, and when other things just feel right, take a break and enjoy those for a while.  More about what we've been up to below.  For now.. I'll tell you about what I used on these cards.

These are the images I used Daisy Delight from ADORNit

Again, this is for those of you who are afraid of painting and shading with watercolors, or you don't want to invest in lots of fancy markers.  Trust me... you can still color and make gorgeous cards!

All the coloring on these cards is done with fine tip Sharpies!  The blue edging is done with old school  chalk.  These images are fun and easy to color and the perfect size for cards.
I'm not on the ADORNit Creative Team any longer..but I LOVE using these!  ADORNit is a wonderful company with great products.
You can see all the paintables  HERE

I just used random scraps of paper for assembling the cards.  I LOVE mixing patterns so much!

I am so thankful it's Summer! I know a lot of people are complaining about the heat now, but when I am tempted to, I think about the "sunless" days of Nebraska winters... and I stop myself.
The older I get the more I dislike winter.

I spent so much of last Summer inside after my accident that I am loving every minute of this sunshine!
I sit out on the deck for a while everyday, and when It's getting too hot and just come in and sit in the air conditioning for a bit.

I've been freezing some strawberries for this winter. They have been so good this year.  They are going to taste good in my smoothies this winter!

Saturday during the day we went to a family reunion for my moms side of the family and then that evening I hung out with these dudes while their mom and dad attended a wedding reception. Emmett will be starting school this Fall and Wyatt will be in 6th grade. What?

We also got to meet our new grand-pup.  Everyone please meet Piper ( on the left).   He is a rescue from Hurricane Harvey.  He is so adorable. Friendly and playful.  She and Riley get along so well.
They are showing off the scarves I made them. lol Don't they look proud?

I also got a new do. I told myself when lost 50lbs I was getting a new do and a couple of new things to wear. Finally
I'd share a picture of Dan, but they poor guy now has Shingles. He is just trying to get built back up after having a terrible Bronchial infection they past few weeks.  He has had quite a time. Trying to put weight on him while trying to take it off of me has been quite a chore.

And.... I this past week got to go see my favorite singer, so there was that.  Super fun! I was very worried how I would do with my foot, but it went surprisingly well.  Luckily my sis Jan is always so great about going with me, so we make a fun time of it. We even spotted a fun little shop to check out before the show. Here is what I came home with.  I love it! Especially with the canvas of Dan and I that my sweet friend Jane sent me.

A fun night. Great show!

I'll leave you with a bit of Roger Clyne

Thanks so much for  stopping by!  And for being patient with me between my posts. lol

Hugs all around!

Vicki, I just wanted to say that new haircut and the 50# loss has taken at least ten years off your looks. I bet that loss also had something to do with the concert event being bearable on your foot. Congratulations!! I always enjoy all your family pics and pics of events going on in your life. I also think it is wonderful that your family always tries to adopt pets that really need a loving home. Those pets are soooo grateful to have a home that they will do anything to fit in. Good on you guys!!
